Without the need to look up, I can see the beauty of the sky, dark clouds that move over the tips of pine leaves. From a reflection, the silhouette of pine leaves look so simple under the splendor of the sky. Even so, both of them also illustrate the majesty of the universe and life. Really, I was fascinated to see that.
I immediately thought of people, or friends, or anyone who was always grateful and enjoyed life in simplicity. We all know that in the midst of modern and sophisticated civilization today, living in simplicity with full sincerity without being tempted by a various worldly sheen that’s so tempting is really not easy, both those who have or who don’t. They are happy because they enjoy what they have, not because they feel compelled to accept the situation. I am sure, in this community, there are many friends who have that such magnanimity.
You and those who enjoy simplicity with joy are happy, peaceful people who live their lives as they are, without complaining, without burdening the mind with anxiety over what they don’t have. They enjoy all tastes; sweet, bitter, salty, sour and tasteless, as is, in the same way, as is reasonable, appropriately. Really, I admire them, rich souls, who feel well off in simplicity.

I think we have a lot, in where we live and I wanted to have some garden chairs and a table. After sorting through things, I found 2 chairs in the rubbish bin that sit in-between a small coffee table than can also be used as a garden kneeler.
I found a chair with a yellow cover and a large spider came out it soon left and the cover went in the rubbish bin and I have various metal chairs. Some are by the porch with a small table in-between. I found the table thrown out on the street and now it is another garden coffee table.
It is not much to some but to me, because it is not in mint condition, thieves don’t want them, they will take some richer pickings.

I try on most days, as you know, to accept and appreciate life as it comes. Being tolerable of others and compassionate takes us far in life.
From all the talk we have done, I know that you are a person with a rich soul, Carol.
I find that all are equal and also that all are teachers. I only fear those who think they are better than others, because they are on the right path.
Rich soul people will not feel better or truer than others, because understanding everyone has their respective roles, and if they talk, there is no other intention but to care about the happiness of others.
People who feel better and truer live on one side of belief in all their justification.

You are so right, Doc. Flaws and strengths are only dualities that in fully, merely part of true truth. Unfortunately, people find it hard to accept a side they don’t like.
True truth does not require justification while justification requires superiority – even power and punishment – to be accepted and recognized.
to end with “we hate most in others what we most hate in ourselves.” Hate and rejection are an extension of self.
You are right, everything we hate actually exists in ourselves, and that is one of the great attachments besides the ego of ownership. We must learn to let go of hatred as well as untying liking too much.
interesting and you are right (in my opinion of course)! I find the first far more prevalent on the internet. There are many who struggle to forgive themselves.
and to forgive themselves is so important. I’m sure you are part of the user who inspires people to do such.
i try to a point. I find that some of the nastiness on the internet in private messages makes me unwilling to forgive that behavior.
if you don’t have the honestly to say something publically it probably shouldn’t be said via messaging.
Maybe it’s not about forgiving or not but about not allowing the behavior to continue.

My Mom was such a person. I am just well, lost, most of the time.

We opted out of city life and shifted to a semi rural setting where I spend most of my time with nature.
I have a small Trust that reaches out to the needy
All this not without first indulging in material pleasures??
I did that at the end of 2013, and moved to the suburbs, unfortunately the city continued to chase me because the freeway, apartment, housing, new, and mall continued to approach my neighborhood…
Smal trust? That makes me curious.
As I said above, many friends here like simplicity, as an option, like you too.
It is a Trust that accepts no donations and therefore small.
Oh, I see… Well, at least you have enough stock.
There is a deposit there and whatever interest gets generated that is used.
Things do look a bit different compared to what it was when we just shifted. But we need those facilities
Seeing the current reality, we often discussed, do we need to move to the village? But there is another reality where we are related to a lot of legalities that include the address in the city we live in which must be changed if we move to another province, and that is very troublesome.
We did alll that. You have to sit down and make a check list of what needs to be done – the nitty gritty of it all. Yes it is a lot of work but in the end it is worth it. And in our case what we did not have while we were in the city we got it here and that is the Internet and everything else that goes with it including online shopping.
I’m sure you have considered all that well. Likewise with us who cannot do that, which is highly not recommended by many parties, including shareholders, notaries, and all colleagues of administrators of community organizations, and also NGO where we carry out social activities outside of our main work.
To each their own. We were more concerned about how the city was and is polluted. Had to get away from that situation.
You have the opportunity to choose better and have done well, Grace.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to meet a person who would enjoy a simple life. Most of them strive for material goods or luxury. They do not realize that in the end it usually only brings dissatisfaction.
I don’t think it’s hard to find such a person, because I’m sure you are one of those few!
