Momma Kitty was Dustin’s cat. She lived to be 24 years old. It was very hard losing her nine years after Dustin. She lived longer than he did. But I have many good memories of MK.
This photo shows you how relaxed she could get, as most cats do. She was allowed in the yard, as she had her claws to protect herself. Brendel and the Dude do not. They stay indoors. She chilled with me a lot out on the deck. And inside as well.
Momma Kitty lived a good long life and helped me through many difficult times.
Sharing her photo with today’s Saturday’s Critters challenge.

Thanks to everyone for all of your comments. MK was very special to me.
24 years is a really long life. MK was a wonderful cat.
Yes and it was till hard to let her go. She was very special.
Sad but true more often than less pets are closer to humans than humans to humans. Animals were placed here for a much greater purpose.
Yes and Bradley she was Dustin’s cat, so she was like a piece of him still alive. Heartbreaking to lose her.
Pets are really understanding, when I was ill for over a year my dog would never leave my site. she would look over me as a mother would.
They really do know things sometimes we don’t know.
I am so sorry Carol.
The memories you shared actually brought a tear to my eye. But it was also such a beautiful and loving tribute to both of them.
You are a pillar of strength!
Appreciate your kind words Doc. Life can be hard but I do have many special memories.
I have two choices. Stay down or get back up. So far I have been getting back up.
you brought a tear to my eye twice today. I do love what you’ve said. When life knocks you down, get up!
Wasn’t my intention, and remember you are in a sensitive place right now. Maybe that is part of it as well.
I suspect I am, wistful a bit right now. Thanks Carol!!!!
You were blessed to have each other. She looks so cute and sweet.
Indeed it was a blessing to have her. She was my baby for many years.
It’s a really long time … cats are really something special, dear Carol
Yes I was happy to have her for so long.
Lovely post and pets are wonderful friends.
Thanks Pam, they can be such good therapy.
Pets are always beautiful ………
They help us get though many things in life.
Pets are a blessing. They do comfort and provide hope. They can’t talk but they have their own way of providing a ray of hope.
Good to see you. I cannot imagine my life without a pet.
It is said cats have 9 lives. Ours the longest was 16. 24 is indeed a great age.
I was blessed to have her for so long.
Our one cat lived 23 years, and even had diabetes.
Wow that is a long time too, amazing LaJenna.
Definitely cats live longer than dogs. That 24 years is such a big number already.
I have known of some dogs living that long but you are right, it is usually the cat.
Even at 24 I was not ready to give her up. But I think she was ready.
She looks cute in there!
I’ve to agree that pets are great companions who doesn’t judge or have much expectations …
They’re happy with little and give even when receiving little
Thank you. She was another of my babies.
I miss her every day.
Losing her was one of the many difficult things I had to do.
Momma Kitty lived a long life! I’m glad she was able to comfort you. Pets are some of the best creations ever made! That’s a beautiful picture of her. Beautiful cat.
Yes thank goodness she did. It was so hard to see her go. Like a piece of Dustin went with her. Thank you.
Pets are a free form of therapy for all of us.
Monma Kitty had the chance to live with a good mother… I agree entirely with you Carol. Pets are even better than humans for companionship, friendship, helping us go through day to day and the ups and downs of everyday. Pets are also the best therapists whether it be with seniors, autistics, handicaps and just people like you and me. That is a beautidul photo of Momma Kitty and a great soothing reminder…
Thank you, and I wish you could have known here. Such a sweetheart. They are always non-judgmental as well. Always good to see you and read your comforting words my friend. I hope things are well with you.
Another thing I should have added about MK. She had only one eye most of her life. Never slowed her down. She won a fight with a male cat when she was pregnant.
