As always, when I leave work in the morning I go on a route planned by me to take pictures. Today I went to Europa Park in Torrevieja, Spain. My preliminary plans were to photograph the many squirrels that inhabit the park. But … unfortunately they have disappeared. After about half an hour, a woman walking her dog told me bad news. Late in the evening, the park is filled with rats that climb trees and eat the young. And the old squirrels have almost left driven from the park. I left sad and disappointed. On the way out of the park to the garbage cans, I found discarded these two pistols, which are antiques. I don’t know if I should keep them to myself. Or hand them over to the police. I don’t want to get in trouble.
What do you think? Is this luck or trouble?

Actually, you should see how much these antique guns are worth. You may have found a gun that was used during the days of the Spanish Armada.
Wow, I had never heard of rats that would take out an entire population of squirrels. That is just plain sad.
As far as guns, I would take a picture of them and go to the police with the picture and ask if anyone has reported them stolen. (I wouldn’t be carrying around the actual items as they might be stolen.)
I will wait to get an answer if they are stolen. Then I will decide how to proceed.
i would notify the police, guns like that are sometimes stolen from collectors.
And I thought about this option. We have a female police officer from Bulgaria who works here at the Torrevieja Police Department. I will consult with her.
that is probably your best course of action. good luck – let us know what happens!
Wow, I can’t believe you found them. Personally, I’d keep them!
It’s only been a day. I will post my answer later.
Lovely antique guns, I am not sure if you should keep them or not…
At the moment I am still at a crossroads.
Those are rare treasures! Those are indeed antiques and could worth a fortune.
I don’t believe it’s worth a fortune once they’re thrown in the trash.
This is an amazing find. I don’t know what I would do. It really needs to be reconsidered.
I will leave time for reflection
I agree with Kim. These belong in a museum. What a find.
I hope the squirrels return.
The find is extremely valuable I guess.
Sorry to hear about the squirrels! Sounds like an eventful walk.
This is what an event walk looks like.
What an original find …. I certainly wouldn’t return them
I haven’t made a decision yet. I will think about it. I will consult with my relatives. And then I will make the final decision ..
I agree with Kim and let the police know. I love antiques
I have not yet decided what to do. I will think about it.
OH MY GOSH! Elenka!!!! I cannot believe you found these. Those are dueling pistols, and are indeed very very old. They do belong in a museum. I would call the police and hand them over. They will know the correct procedure. Or call them and tell them the story, and how old they are. Please keep me updated. Incredible find, so sorry about the squirrels though.
Maybe they were thrown away because they did not show interest in the museum we have in Torrevieja. I don’t know if they are offered on any antiques site. I will decide later what to do.
That could be too. And yes, you could sell them if the authorities or museum dont want them. I would keep them myself, if it were me. Regardless, congratulations on a really cool find.
I wonder what stories those guns could tell.
I don’t know if this will help, but I believe they are French Dueling Pistols.
They certainly have something to tell. And I want to keep them to myself. Not every day one can find such antiques in the trash.
The one without the revolver is I believe Spanish in origin. They were known for this pattern on the butt. I know you will research them. This may be a place to start.
