Lots of great suggestions yesterday, and I am building on those.
First – thank you to everyone with suggestions and ideas for the site!
The rules are simple; do not worry about the opinions of others, share the things that you would like.
Later we will do voting to determine the order of importance, but when we start this process, we want everyone to have a chance to speak safely.
One thing that I do not have in this poll is the area of moderators and speeding up the moderation process. This is a tricky one because it is also tied to another question what is the process to become verified. Some authors were made confirmed that they had overused that privilege (post 5 or 6 posts every single day since becoming verified). Based on that, the admin team has stopped creating new, verified users again. For now, I am keeping this as one of the upcoming questions. The other reason is that it takes forever to do a long poll now. The nine or so questions today took me more than 10 minutes to get to the point where it was ready to be published, just the poll!
Lots of exciting concepts around blocked users. If you block a user, what happens next. Right now, they, the blocked user, can still comment on the post of the person that blocked them.
I also captured an exciting idea about the issue of reported comments – what do we do about that? I like the concept proposed of a two-step process so that if someone says a comment, a moderator is stepping in and reviewing the feedback before allowing the 20 viril penalties to be accessed. The other thing we need is, and if you have a comment reported, you cannot report comments until the first issue is cleared.
I will end with two questions:
- Should edits (comments and posts) return with limits?
- Do authors think that the issue of the embedded post is critical?
I am very pleased with the points offered in this post. The only thing that doesn’t bother me is editing my comments. I have never been rude or incorrect. This is my personal opinion. For all other suggestions, I answered yes.

A monthly newsletter would definitely be nice. I saw that as one of your options.
They (virily editors) post a few times a month,. It would be easy to just have that on the home page and make a newsletter.

If mods /admins don’t communicate or communicate only with privileged individuals that gives me feel uneasy feeling.
Correct/ penalize only those that play the system. Be fair.
Have some kind of process laid down for regular approval of posts.
I am okay with edits of posts and comments but I fear it will be misused. People could report your comments while editing their own.
As for the issue of verified users some transparency would be helpful.

1. correctly penalize those who play the system, that is a hard one. We have comment limits (must be 20 characters) because people commented nice, or good. Then the use of punctuation took over and is still used by some users (nice………………………._) that isn’t 20 characters and it is a useless comment.
2. Abuse is a problem on verily, we’ve had it from the beginning. People willing to cheat the system. That has resulted in

3. i have no clue how people are verified. i couldn’t tell you how I was verified, or any of the other authors that are verified now.

What I know about Adsense revenue sharing is that a site shares a percentage and the users a certain percentage irrespective whether the views are internal or external. It used to be 60:40 or 40:40 and so on.
When reporting a comment, the one complaining should be given options to choose e.g. spam, offensive and explain why he or she thinks is the case. Then the moderators review.
I don’t think we should have limits to edit our posts. We should be allowed to edit posts as frequently as possible.
the problem with AdSense isn’t the split, it is the volume. As in there are less than 200 active users on verily, there are more than 2 billion active users on the internet. the math is not in favor of Virily views as a revenue stream!
I worry about reporting comments a lot. we had a disconnect with the admins on what blocking and reporting mean for a long time.
The reason we lost the edit in the first place was people skirting the edge of the rules anyway. I think rules are critical when people demonstrate they won’t follow them!

So sad some users broke the rules leading to its removal. Abusing is so bad.
we’ve had that problem here for a long time. I am saddened but it fits with what my grandfather always said “ethics are what you do when no one can see you.”
I agree with all the suggestions. It’s really not right that a blocked user can still comment. Still my personal opinion. I don’t think it’s a fair rule to become a verified user. I would be pleased with the banner to keep us informed.
well i know the struggles of many writers moving to Verified, and I agree with that!
I hope that the admin can take this poll into consideration. I like this site and I try to go on it every day, comment and post.

I agree with all of these, except the photo size, I am ok with what we can load now. Big issue with reported comments. I don’t feel the entire thread should have 20 virils deducted. Only the member that posted the comment. That happened to me several times recently, as you know. Blocked members should be blocked, from everything.
