Funny thing while out yesterday in my yard. I had the camera and I noticed the hummingbird darting around the feeder. As I got closer I noticed a bee was flying around him. They were competing for the feeder. There are four feeding station but they all want it to themselves. I clicked a few photos, from a distance, and was surprised to get this one. They are very challenging to photograph. If they see or hear me they fly away. The hummingbird won by the way. The long beak of the hummingbird is a definite plus for him. Nature never disappoints.

Beautiful photos – everything in turn is really special – it’s a pleasure to look at them
Thank you my friend for your kind comment.
Wow, I can’t believe you caught this. Well played little hummer!
Fantastic photos Carol. So neat!!
I know Kim, I was so delighted to see it on my computer. You never know sometimes until you upload the pics. Thanks.
I love it! I am always amazed when I get that one shot and it turns out. Humming birds are hard to capture, one of my favorite birds.
Thank you Andria. I was pleasantly surprised. They are definitely a challenge.
Great shot, very nice! That must have been fun to watch! Thanks for sharing that moment with us!
Yes I was siting in my steps for awhile after I took it just watching. Thank you Courtney.
Not many people can get so lucky, but you seem to be one of the lucky ones. I love the photo!
It takes a lot patience LaJenna. Thank you
I’ve read that bees are attracted to hummingbird feeders where the little plastic flowers have yellow centers. If you paint over the yellow with red, it doesn’t attract them as much. I’ve never actually tried this, however.
I have never heard that Gary. I guess bees know their colors. I will try that.
Wooow …. You made a fantastic shot
Thank you I was surprised.
Wonderful photos, Carol!
Thank you very much Branka.
If that bee is a human, maybe he will call his friends to avenge his defeat.
That is funny Albert. Hope your day is well.
Yes, I am, Carol. Thanks. Hope you too…
Well done! Nice pic!
Thank you very much Georgi.
That’s so cute! The nature always teaches us something, we just have to pay attention!
Indeed, nature is packed full of therapy as well.
Which food use for birds in the feeder?
They sip on nectar I make and put in the glass bottle, from water and sugar. It is like sipping nectar from a flower for them.
Well, I must admit that it is a smart and comprehensible solution.
Some people buy it pre-mixed but I prefer to make my own and keep it in the frig.
What a glorious moment you caught! Wonderful photos, Carol!
Thank you, I love these accidental captures.
Haha, I guess the bee will call his platoon back for revenge>?
Unless…. the hummer ate him. Who knows for sure.
Lol, Carol, you’re humourous 🙂
Well you know, you gotta roll with it in life. 🙂
Well said… lol
but somehow I prefer to walk :p
