My Golden Privet bush has bloomed. Always a favorite in the yard. The shiny green leaves first, now the fragrant white blooms.
The bees and hummingbirds are attracted first to the smell and nectar. They will arrive soon. I just noticed the blooms today, perhaps after the rain over the weekend.
The smell reminds me somewhat of the honeysuckle but sweeter. I picked some blooms to have indoors to enjoy. And now every room in the house smells like my garden. Spring can be a great time of the year.

The bush beautifully blossoms, but I’m not sure if I know these flowers
It looks interesting… thsi is probably the first time I see them
I love this one and would like many more in my yard.
Such a beautiful bush, and now to ask how long does a bush like this one take to fully grow?
Thanks, I wish I had more of them. This one was planted about ten years or so ago.
… but it doesn’t take that long to bloom. We saw blooms after just a couple of years if I remember correctly.
Looks like there is snow on the leaves, so beautiful
Those are the blooms. They smell divine! Thank you.
Nice I think to be used as natural fence. Not sure if we have that here ?
Yes some use these as a row for fence or privacy.
These are planted on the outside line of our neighborhood! Now I know what they are. Thank you!!!!
Oh good. Tried to get close enough so you could see the leaves and blooms. You are welcome.
I have wondered for the past three years. Plant snap didn’t identify them.
Wow glad you know now. Did I tell you about this site I use sometimes to ID plants… https://plants.sc.egov.usda.gov/java/
That is a great site, thanks! USDA does a lot of good information things like that!
What is this Golden Private blooms ?
The white in the photo are the tiny blooms.
Cool, I love the smell, it’s available here and mostly grown for fencing purpose.
I would love more of these as a fence perhaps.
awonderful garden of bees and birds lucky to come to your garden?????
I try to grow what will attract them and it seems to work. Thank you.
You are welcome my dear friend
I love plants which have fragrant blooms. These look so lovely.
Same here, I have many like that. Thanks.
I would love to live in a place surrounded by flowers. I hope that I could buy land of my own and have my own garden.
I too hope you can buy land for flowers one day.
the smell of a Narnian spring is in the air
Indeed you are correct. The beautiful saga continues
the drama of seasons plays on
I would love to have such plants in my garden!
It’s beautiful, even in your photos!
Thank you, maybe it is available where you live.
I have searched it on the internet and unfortunately, I have not found its existence in my country.
I also searched as much as I could and did not see it available either.
Who knows by chance we have met each other at one search point without realizing… lol
Beautiful shrub. I see him for the first time
Thanks, they are world wide it seems. And one of my favorite.
It is a superb looking bloom… I have never heard or seen it before that I remember… Does it grow wild or do you have to plant it. Something my ex mother in law would surely like…
I love this one. It does not grow wild here but maybe other places.
As I see it from afar, I’m not sure I know it.
You may not have it your country. It is also called Ligustrom.
I have been told to avoid privet because it triggers hay fever, but it is a pretty flower and sweet smell
That is too bad Pam. I can see where this could be a problem because it is a strong fragrance.
