Some people swear by coconut oil’s health and beauty benefits. However, other people purposely avoid consuming it. What about you?
I’ve written about coconut oil before, check out this post.
Also, read about the risks of using coconut oil and other natural products on your face.
As for me, I love using coconut oil in many of my desserts. However, I believe that it should be used in moderation: like everything else. Check out my blog for some dessert ideas.

I know several women that use this
Thanks for stopping by!
I know several women that use this and it has cured their dry hair problems.
This is awesome! However, I have heard that it should be kept away from the scalp.
Coconut smells good.
I agree with you! 🙂
I hear that in a pinch, you can use coconut milk for plasma transplants. What are the benefits of using coconut oil in your hair?
I’ve also read that coconut water can be used as a substitute for blood plasma, but I don’t know if it’s a myth.
Coconut oil can be used to tame, condition and nourish hair; apparently it’s good against dandruff too (maybe the type that’s caused by dry skin). I’ve never used coconut oil on my hair, but in general I avoid applying oil on my scalp. Some people claim that it makes their hair fall, and others say that these are hairs that are supposed to fall anyway.
Interesting. I have a friend who moved to Hawaii and she reports the locals think coconut oil can be used in place of pretty much anything. They regard it as a panacea…
Yes, this seems to be the common opinion, although lately they are trying to debunk it. I guess, everything is okay in moderation.
I don’t believe in panaceas; one size fits all is a myth…
I love coconut oil, use it for my hair and skin.
It’s always great to use natural products on your skin!
I use both coconut oil and olive oil in baking. Doing a Keto diet, I don’t have to worry about fats so much…I sometimes put it in my coffee (though I prefer butter).
Great poll!
I should try adding it to my coffee! Sometimes I put some homemade chocolate fudge that’s rich in coconut oil, but I’ve never tried with just coconut oil or butter.
Well I usually do bullet proof coffee which is butter, coconut oil, and heavy cream. The fudge sounds delicious though!!
I should try that, sounds interesting!
It definitely is interesting, but good!
We mostly use coconut oil to cook at home
That’s awesome! We use olive oil, but I use coconut oil for my desserts.
In general, Indonesian people cook with coconut oil
I see. Here in Bulgaria, the traditional one is sunflower seed oil.
Enjoyed your poll Ellie. Many uses for coconut oil.
Thank you so much, Carol!
I use Olive Oil more than Coconut oil, but there are certain things I always make with Coconut oil. Fun poll Ellie!
Thank you so much, Scott!
I use only coconut shavings. Cook with olive oil. For the cosmetics, Aloe is sitting on the terrace on the terrace
Thank you so much for sharing!
Аз използвам само кокосови стърготини за сладкиши. Готвя с зехтин. За козметиа сао натуално Алое от сасията на терасата
It seems that coconut oil has a good reputation among Virilians. 🙂
I use mainly flaxseed oil and sometimes sesame oil for flavour, and other times olive oil. I prefer to use fresh olive oil
Thanks for sharing, Pamela! Flaxseed oil is very beneficial, but I can’t get used to its smell.
I have coconut oil but Im not used to using it, but when I get into the cooking I would like to. As it’s summer here, may use your recipes for the no bake version and use the coconut oil for that.
Let me know if you try it! 🙂
In moderation, yes, but it is a great option for many foods. We like it in desserts as well. :- ) The only skin care I use it for is on hands.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! I try to eat it in moderation, but I don’t use it much for beauty purposes. I don’t know why, but I always feel guilty when I use something edible for my skin. It’s crazy, since store-bought products can be more expensive or harmful.
The coconut nut is a big, big nut, if you eat too much you get very fat…lol! Coconut is one with many uses – from tree to fruit, actually every part of it.
I agree, it’s an amazing plant!
I use unrefined olive oil for most culinary needs, both cooking and salads. For Indian food I use unrefined mustard oil, or rapeseed (canola) oil if I can’t get mustard oil.
PS I can’t get #3 to respond.
Thanks for sharing your opinion and experience! I’m sorry for the inconvenience, I’m not sure what happened.
My most frequent use for cooking with coconut oil is when making popcorn. It has a high smoking point and is very good for popcorn. I don’t buy chips and crackers much but do make popcorn in my wok relatively often. I use olive oil most frequently for cooking.
Sounds delicious, I love popcorn. Thank you for sharing your opinion and experience!
That is a great idea Howard!
great information about oils
Thank you so much, Sam!
