This caterpillar is actually so cute, but of course, I can not keep it. Rutaceae like Limonia, Triphasia, lemon and else, and many other kinds of trees are some of my bonsai collections.
This caterpillar is very greedy. It can eat so much that it can make the size of her body grow fivefold in one day. Time and time again some of my bonsai lost all its leaves when they raided. Three or four is enough to make a bonsai become like a tree in autumn even though my country does not have that season.
One thing that made me curious, I never knew would be what a butterfly it was after the transformation.

Great shot of a caterpillar!
Thaaaank youuu, Milena.
What a great shot of this caterpillar-could it be a moth and not a butterfly? The dramatic coloring could mean that it is toxic.
Maybe it could be a moth, I do not know. About toxic, I don’t know it too but to my knowledge, it will make our skin feel “hot” if touched by it for a long time.
This caterpillar is really cute, like it has a dress
Yep! I agree. Do you have a somewhat similar dress?
Very interesting post and beautiful photo! Nature is fascinating, but I have no idea how it will look once it becomes a butterfly.
Thanks, Ellie. Yep! Nature is so fascinating and makes us curious…
It is a never-ending battle, human against nature!
Well, I am not hostile to them, just move them out the page if they come or I find in my plant. They need their life too… hehe…
They do! Nature’s fit and finish doesn’t always make sense. Sometimes the battle (saving trees and flowers0 is hard to place with the reality of nature’s fit and finish.
It’s so beautiful & multicolored, so the nature is really great designer!!!! Very curious post & stunning photo but unfortunately don’t know this type of caterpillar & butterfly. Can only guess that butterfly is just as beautiful.
Every few months, they come to visit my bonsai collection. I had to move them out of my yard, but I could not know their next fate without the food they liked.
Caterpillars are very interesting animals.
A funny and unique thing about it is that it is defeated by its future in terms of popularity…
That is a very good point.
Interestingly enough, I am also working on caterpillars right now. But the one I am working with can only consume five times his body weight in psychedelics a day…
Hmmm… I’m sure you create something cool…
I now have two versions of the guy
What guy and what version?
The caterpillar I am working on; he has a standard version and then a biomechanical version which I will most likely roll out tomorrow…
That sounds like a great project!
it seems to be pretty popular, so I’ll be bringing it back next month
Great capture! This is a great photograph & post 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the compliment, Mommy.
I’ve seen this type of caterpillar in photos only, I am not scared of it but I also don’t want to touch it. I wonder what color of butterfly it will be.
That’s great if you’re not scared, my sister-in-law will scream even by only heard the words of the caterpillar.
I’m kinda creep out by it…
too big too close …
Quite a lot of people like you, including my wife and her old sister. So do not ask them to help with gardening.
Actually, it’s only 4 cm (from only 1 cm in the morning), so not too big… yet…
There are so many kinds of caterpillars and I do not recognize this one. Sorry about your bonsai tree. They can be very greedy.
This kind of caterpillar is different and only consume different foods as well, and yes… so greedy!
I’ve never seen a caterpillar like that before. It is certainly very pretty. It would be interesting to know what sort of butterfly it turns into. But, I imagine a beautiful one.
In general, caterpillar body filled with feathers but not with this one type. I tried to imagine it as a green butterfly, but I have never seen a green butterfly around me all along.
