My doctor called. She is not happy with my sleep. I have been wearing the sleep tracker and she receives the reports. I stopped looking at them because, well, I found it depressing. I thought I had a great night’s sleep and the report would say 20 minutes of light sleep was all I got.
She then lined out the short term consequences of sleep deprivation and then marched right on to the long term consequences. Normally I like her, but today she was not a ray of sunshine, she was a down right rain cloud.
So I think we should figure out together how much we really know about sleep deprivation.

I thought I slept well but all that tossing I do perhaps will show on that monitor and so may be I do not sleep well?
Having said that there are people around me who are active but hardly sleep if what your doctor says is correct.
I’ve been managing on about 4 hours of sleep a night; but I know that it can cause all of those things that you mentioned. I did an article here on Virily a while back about sleep deprivation. Good post.
Hope you can get the sleep and rest you need. I usually manage on 6 hours of sleep but sometimes I wake up much too quickly say after about 4 hours and if I cannot sleep I get up and do stuff and then take a nap later on but it throws off my day.
