Winter has almost arrived here; we already have snow. It’s very cold outside and I know that most people hate winter, but I personally have lots of reasons to like it.
I think we should find happiness in small things. For example, I love those sunny days in winter when everything is white, the air is fresh and the snow is shining. It’s great to play outside and not to care about the cold, to make snowmen and of course, to slide with a sledge, a piece of plastic, a plank or whatever you have near at hand. Okay, I haven’t done the last one for years, but my happiest memories from childhood are related to it.
It’s wonderful after such a day to go inside, especially if there is a fireplace, and drink something hot. And if you have nothing more to do you can just relax all day long while watching the snowflakes peacefully falling.
It’s great that in winter we can wear so many comfortable clothes, nice scarves, cute hats and thick knit gloves. And let us not forget the holidays, almost every day in winter there is some holiday.
There are so many chances to spend some nice time with people we are close to and eat whatever we want. It’s winter and we wear lots of clothes! XD

I don’t like winter at all. The only thing I look forward to in the winter time is Christmas. That’s my favourite time of year. I love your photo of the little snowman though.

Actually, I really don’t like winter. My season is Summer and temperatures 40+ (speaking about Celsius degrees).

Hehe, here in Bulgaria we always complain about the cold weather in winter and the heat in summer!
It seldom snows in the Lake Charles area but when it comes in this town it is priceless to see snow on the ground and on the roofs of the houses in the neighborhood.

Maybe that’s why you like it. If you have it too often, it gets tiring.

Since there is no snow in southern California, I just enjoy the present moment and the holiday decorations during the daytime and nighttime. I also like dressing in winter fashions for fun to feel cozy and warm.
But I grew up in the east coast, in the mountains, and I used to do a lot of snowman in my backyard as well as sledding down own sloping backyard via sled. I have used an innertube at a friend’s house. I think it goes faster. I have also built a whole Snowman family, a big one, medium sized one, and little kids one, for fun. When my family moved to California, we often drove to Northern California as well as Reno, Nevada for Skiing, which was also fun. I also love to ice skate when I get a chance. That is probably why I enjoy watching the Winter Olympics. I am sure there are some ice skating on TV now, but I am not sure when. I am probably missing ice skating shows right now.

I’m not a fan of winter, I can’t stand the cold…
I take it back, my favorite thing about winter is that it gets dark earlier and I like to do art in the dark so my productivity doubles around this time of year
That’s interesting! I’m more productive at night too, but I hate it when it gets dark early.
They are predicting a very cold winter for Chicago. We may actually break our record low temperature which is -27 degrees Fahrenheit. Ergo, there is nothing I am looking forward to about winter. It’s cold. It’s windy. It’s overcast.
It sounds scary, I hope it won’t be that cold!
