Beautiful places to visit in Romania- Part.II

The second series of natural beauties and monumental constructions by which I try to illustrate only a few of the Romanian tourist attractions.

#1 Bran Castle

The Bran Castle is a national monument and a landmark in Romania, and is associated with the Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Actually, the fortress is a museum displaying art and furniture from the Queen Maria's reign. The documents releave that Bran Castle was built by Saxons from Kronstadt in Transylvania within the 14th century, as a defense against Otoman Empire's invassions. In 1920 the castle became the royal residence of the Kindom of Romania.

#2 Sihastria Monastery Putna

The Monastery Putna is one of the most important cultural and religious testimony of the ancient Moldavia, being built for the first time by the Prince Stephen the Great. It's and Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The monastery buried three times, and was rebuilt again.

The oldest embroidery of the monastery made at the end of 14th century is an epitaphion created with silk and gold, thread by Euphima, a Serbian nun.

#7 The Muddy Volcanoes

The Muddy Volcanoes from Berca, a place in Subcarpaths of curvature, is a geological reservation created due of eruptions of gas from the ground, which bring mud and water to the surface. The mud volcanoes have same structure like the real volcanoes, but their height is only 5-6 meters, while the depth from which the lava is thrown is much smaller. In this case the lava means mud and water.

#8 Danube Delta

The greater part of the Danube Delta can be found in Romania. The Danube Delta is the second river delta in Europe after Volga Delta. From its total surface(water and lagoon) of 1603 sq mi, about 1300 sq mi is in Romania. The Razim- Sinoe lagoon complex of the Romanian Danube Delta is a World Heritage site, geologically and ecologically protected.
