Wacky Wednesday – Tui Bird

This is a New Zealand Tui Bird unique to New Zealand often hangs upside down in a tree that has flowers.

I am not sure what this pink flower off a tree is, but it blooms in spring. This was taken in Epsom, Auckland and off the road side.

In central Auckland there are often streets lined with trees and this street is lined with trees that have pink flowers.

  1. Nice picture. The Tui bird is a bit like the Bats in hanging upside down. New Zealand should be a great country to spot such rare species.

    • Thanks the Tui is not under threat because it has an aggressive streak. We have Bats in New Zealand too, but few here have ever seen a Bat in New Zealand.
