I cannot say I have enjoyed March of 2018 yet, but there is still time! I have had the flu for most of the month but am finally starting to feel better.
We have had a lot of rain and everything is so green! Here are some photos of what is going on in my neck of the woods. I live in Oceanside, North San Diego County, southern California.
This time of year our Live Oak Trees get new leaves and come in a bright red. Here are a few shots of these.
The second one is the very top of the tree.
These are also in show right now! The Mustard Flowers. Add vinegar and you have mustard condiment.
They fill the ground in places and grow wild.
And a close up of the flower.
The Lemon Trees have pretty white blooms.
The Birds of Paradise are very happy!
I love their color…
So bright and cheery..
The Monarch Butterflies are out! This one is on the tip of a Live Oak Tree.
Ahhh, spring is near..
With all this rain we’ve had it should be a very photogenic spring time.
These are full of blooms, but I don’t know what they are….
And I will leave you with this look up shot of the tree canopy.
What’s going on in your neck of the woods?
Your photos cheer me up Kim because here in the Ottawa valley we still have a large amount of snow and it was -20 degrees C every morning for the past 3-4 days. We even had light snow every day last week. Spring seems to be very late in our corner of the world. Yours surely is in all blooms. Very pretty area you live in.
You will be the last to see it History Gal! Until then, happy spring from the south!
The photos are great………
Thank you Branka, so glad you enjoyed them.
You are fortunate to enjoy this heavenly beauty, Kim.
Yes, its an awesome place to live climate wise Albert. Thank you.
blue paradise bird flower? nice, I only have those in yellow.
The giant ones come in a cream color to white, while these smaller ones are usually orange and blue. The blue is fantastic isnt it?
Freezing cold and snow here. Your photos are beautiful Kim. Hope that’s what’s coming our way soon.
I will push the warm air your way Paul. Snow = Green soon!
Spring is in the air, or possibly still winter…
The buds tell us it is soon!
The buds are optimistic, but have been wrong before. A late frost can really derail their plans
Now that you are starting to smell in the spring. The photos are great. You say you need another week to recover completely. I wish it to be with sincere feelings.
Thank you Elenka, and I am starting to feel much better. : )
Awesome photos!
Sunshine, green leaves and no snow?! I don’t believe it:) It’s still a real winter where I live…
We have a lot of snow on the mountains near, but it’s warmer by the coast. Thank you Lapka : )
these photos would look cool put together in a spring collage, with the butterfly one in the center, and maybe some bee photos added.
Thank you fifi! What a great idea!
Wonderful photos, they are all amazing! Lovely colors in the photos! Here it is still cold and we’re supposed to get a little more snow I think.
Glad to hear you’re starting to feel better….being sick that long is no fun!
Thank you MOM! This weather!! We are now getting more rain. This has been the rainiest season I can remember in a LONG time. Thank on the well wishes. : )
My pleasure!! That’s crazy that it’s been the rainiest season in a long time….must be our warmest cause it snowed quite a bit, but melted pretty fast too
Wow! Gorgeous photos! I hope you get well sooner!
Thank you Ellie! Today is two weeks exactly, and I am starting to feel much better.
I’m glad to hear that!
Beautiful photos Kim I hope you are feeling better soon so you can get out and enjoy the sunshine!
Thank you Carol..maybe another week until I feel like actually doing something. lol
