Here are three things I learned from Virily today.
1) It is extremely addictive and I am going to like it here,
2) Strange things happen. I had quite a difficult time getting the photos I successfully loaded into the draft of this, my first post, to stay in the draft and then when it looked like everything was all set to go, I decided to add one more sentence, but when I did that and then pressed the button to “save draft” it dumped everything but one photo and submitted the post before I was ready. Yikes! Also, that the photos load backward in sequence, so if I am telling a story about cooking glass noodles while learning Virily the first illustration will end up last unless I post the last one first. Confused? I know I am, and most important I learned that
3) it is hard to ruin a pot of glass noodles even while going away and getting caught up in Virily and forgetting them.
These are leeks from my microgarden. They grow on their own from kitchen scraps put in water in a glass jar on the window sill. The new growth is milder in flavor and more tender than the whole leeks bought in the supermarket. They grow 1/2″ or more every day, so if I put several scrap in the sun, I get enough of them to eat every day.
This is not much of a story, but I am afraid of losing everything again, so now, for the first time I will press the “submit for review” button and see what happens.
I want to know how to do pools better. I mess them up lol. I thought you have been here for a long time.
Hi, LaJenna, I go offline a lot lately, but I have been here less than a year. Hope to be on here on a more regular basis in July! I miss all of you.
I can ruin glass noodles without even trying
I find that somewhat hard to believe, but then I make mine in the robotic oven and it does the thinking.
I boil them on the stove and they’re almost never done right
Oh. I make them ahead in the Instant Pot and then reheat them in my Gourmia 10-in-1 with the automatic stirring thingee. Japchae, here we come. I still remember the horrified look on my Korean friend’s face when I told her I put pineapple in mine.
I look just like your Korean pal right now. But hey, if that works for you…
Problems occur occasionally but I am accepted by this
Yes, now that I have been around here for a few months I can tell the difference between glitches and me just not knowing how to navigate the site.
only now have I got around to reading your first post
It may take quite a while before I get around to reading your first post, Alex. But it will be fun trying.
Ommmmguuhhhhhhh! I freaking love your writer’s voice and your style.
More! Please! And thank you!
And here I thought I sounded like a dilettante, Donald. More gibberish coming right up and thank you for your kind words.
Well, I am looking forward. We never really know how we sound to others. What I find interesting is how people respond to someone acting/looking/sounding just like them.
Well, that is kind of exhilarating, you know.
Glad to hear that. I think I like you.
Now, what does that big word mean?
😛
Figured that much, Donald, and I would have replied under your comment earlier but the darned page won’t let me. The big word mean Wow!!!
Well, in the vernacular it does anyway, sort of. I like big words. My favorite one is “antidisestablishmentarianism” which my brothers taught me when I was knee high to a grasshopper. There are bigger words, but that one has always been my favorite.
My personal favorite big words are “unless” and “if.”
Oh, thanks, I didn’t know you could do that. I’m not here altogether for the earnings although that is fun. I am just trying to get as many posts done before I go on a camping trip so there will be a presence when I get back.
You’re a fast learner! it took months for me to figure how they sequence photos in gallery posts and I still mess them up!
I have messed up the one where we show two photos and ask which people like better. One photo loaded and then I still cannot figure out how to upload the second one. Thanks for having visited my profile and all that.
People are incredibly nice. I see that it is after 11 pm on a Sunday in Estonia and Natalie just approved my new posts. Makes me wonder where everyone is from.
Texas. I am from the Republic of Texas.
You are right about that banner at the bottom of the page! The side one had me tearing my hair out too, but it is less offensive when the screen is a normal size. I like to keep my computer screen at a distance and zoom which zooms the black and white side banner so that it too covers up things that need clicking. Grrr.
Thank you for sharing this post with us and welcome!
Thanks, milenazoran, for the welcome and now I am off to take a look at your potato rollers….mmm, you are making me hungry!
You’re welcome, Ann! I wish you much money here! About potato rollers- it’s very easy to prepare it.
I see your post just fine … 🙂
I haven’r face the problem you mentioned … but it could be a bug that was fixed …
Anyway, welcome here!! XD
It does seem to be working better now, thanks for the welcome, alibb.
This is a great first post. Welcome! Feel free to ask questions. 🙂
Thank you, Carol. Maybe you can tell me how to find my referral link?
Go to your Profile. Click on View (under the word Dashboard), scroll down to Affiliate Program, the Link under it is your referral link.
The link should be in purple like this: https://virily.com/?mref=307
Found it! Thank you, Carol, you are Virily a Genius!
It comes from trial and error. Glad you found it.
Thanks, Carol. I had also forgotten where to look. I had finally tried sharing to copy my number from a link to Twitter.
Not a problem Barbara. 🙂
I’m so happy to see you here. You keep changing usernames on me. How did you get that great bio underneath? How about a tutorial? I want to know how you did that!
When you tried to make that post, were you on your phone or a desktop? I’ve never had that problem, but I never post anything from a phone if I can help it. If you really want a challenge, try to post a quiz. It usually takes saving and previewing several times before it finally stops duplicating questions. Also be advised that you can change the default “yes” and “no” answers to answers that make more sense. The very first quiz I posted was a disaster.
I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to go camping alone.
I rather imagine that my first quiz will be a disaster, too. My first gallery was a mess, but I messaged staff and got a lovely reply, plus they sent it back to draft for me. Thanks for the welcome, Barb.
Sometimes I feel safer camping alone than staying home alone! BTW, did you see what Carol did above? She showed me where to find my referral link! I cannot wait now to make a post and attach it! Tee hee.
You will find lots of helpful people here. I think you and Carol already met at Bubblews. There are a lot of us here.
I did see what Carol shared. Very helpful, since I’d also forgotten.
