What Virily Taught me Already

Here are three things I learned from Virily today.

1)  It is extremely addictive and I am going to like it here,

2) Strange things happen. I had quite a difficult time getting the photos I successfully loaded into the draft of this, my first post, to stay in the draft and then when it looked like everything was all set to go, I decided to add one more sentence, but when I did that and then pressed the button to “save draft” it dumped everything but one photo and submitted the post before I was ready. Yikes! Also, that the photos load backward in sequence, so if I am telling a story about cooking glass noodles while learning Virily the first illustration will end up last unless I post the last one first. Confused?  I know I am, and most important I learned that

3)  it is hard to ruin a pot of glass noodles even while going away and getting caught up in Virily and forgetting them.

These are leeks from my microgarden.  They grow on their own from kitchen scraps put in water in a glass jar on the window sill. The new growth is milder in flavor and more tender than the whole leeks bought in the supermarket. They grow 1/2″ or more every day, so if I put several scrap in the sun, I get enough of them to eat every day.

This is not much of a story, but I am afraid of losing everything again, so now, for the first time I will press the “submit for review” button and see what happens.

  1. Oh, thanks, I didn’t know you could do that. I’m not here altogether for the earnings although that is fun. I am just trying to get as many posts done before I go on a camping trip so there will be a presence when I get back.

    • I have messed up the one where we show two photos and ask which people like better. One photo loaded and then I still cannot figure out how to upload the second one. Thanks for having visited my profile and all that.

  2. People are incredibly nice. I see that it is after 11 pm on a Sunday in Estonia and Natalie just approved my new posts. Makes me wonder where everyone is from.

  3. You are right about that banner at the bottom of the page! The side one had me tearing my hair out too, but it is less offensive when the screen is a normal size. I like to keep my computer screen at a distance and zoom which zooms the black and white side banner so that it too covers up things that need clicking. Grrr.

  4. I see your post just fine … 🙂
I haven’r face the problem you mentioned … but it could be a bug that was fixed …

    Anyway, welcome here!! XD

  5. I’m so happy to see you here. You keep changing usernames on me. How did you get that great bio underneath? How about a tutorial? I want to know how you did that!

When you tried to make that post, were you on your phone or a desktop? I’ve never had that problem, but I never post anything from a phone if I can help it. If you really want a challenge, try to post a quiz. It usually takes saving and previewing several times before it finally stops duplicating questions. Also be advised that you can change the default “yes” and “no” answers to answers that make more sense. The very first quiz I posted was a disaster.

I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to go camping alone.
