I am continuing with the 365 Photos Challenge and I am now on Day 40. Anyone can join in, you do not have to be nominated. Here are the rules on the 365 Photos Challenge.
My last post was about my cat Brendel. So now I have to make sure my other cat is not left out. The Dude is my black cat I adopted a few years ago. He is proof that all of the myths about black cats being bad luck are nonsense. He is the most loving adorable cat I have seen. He talks to me and to the birds. And runs through the house like he is running a race. A very happy cat. I am lucky to have found him at a shelter and rescued him just in time. His time was running out, I could not let him be put down. He is so entertaining. Never a dull moment that is for sure.
I have so many photos of the Dude, it was a hard choice which one to share, but I finally decided on this one of my many favorites to share with you.
I love his eyes and his whiskers. He is perched on top of one of his cat trees watching the birds out the window. He has a great view!
Wow The Dude you sure strike a mighty looking panther pose. Now keep your eyes on those birds because they just might converge and attack your mommy just like in the movie The Birds. But nah I am almost sure he fell asleep not too long after the click of the camera…
Dude is kinda cute and in this picture he looks like he is planning for some distant future hahaha
He was bird watching and went to sleep after the photo!
I love this cat! I had a cat that looked much like this one. He died, but he was very loveable
Thanks LaJenna, he is full of personality. Sorry for your loss.
This incarnation of the Dude might actually pee on his own rug…
I certainly hope not Alex. Happy New Year!
I also hope not, that rug really tied the whole room together…
I can always count on you for a smile Alex. 🙂
I’m glad to be of service…
Aha! The photogenic Dude! I wish I knew what he was talking to you all this time…
It is always cat language, I am still learning myself!
I’m also learning from Popeye and Susie, but your flying hours must be more!
Then, the Sphinx blinks, and dashes like a black flash into each room the hall links…Zing! Ha! Great grins!
How funny, thank you for the visit and the comment!
I tend to be aloof until some poor swimmer flounders into my domain and comments with equal enthusiasm. At which point you are fodder too….Grin. Hope your wearing your laugh preserver…SpLaSh! >-=^;>
Laugh preserver ha, I always wear it!
If you have an extra…I know a few flailing in the froth. Grin.
Enjoyed your tales of tails, immensely.
wawoo, i love this, he is such a pet that i would love to see one day.
Thank you very much!
DUDE! My favorite cat of all times! I really feel like I know these two, him and Brendel. Hold em down and kiss em for me! : D
That’s funny Kim, that is just how he was names, from the movie, DUDE!
I gave them both kisses and yes I had to hold them down. 🙂
thats good picture im learning! in cats
Thank you for the comment jasmine.
Hey Dude! (to the tune of a certain Beatles song 😉 )
There is a story behind his name. It came from the movie The Big Lebowski, you have to see the movie to understand. Thanks Norman!
If I ever see the film, I’ll try and keep an ear out for your allusion 🙂
I love black cats with this magnificent black jacket. He’s a charmer.
Me too, those and the striped tabbies are my favorites, along with siamese.
This was my first black cat and I love him!
I love those mini panthers! Just watching them move…
That is what I call him, especially after his brushing.
The Dude looks nice. Saying all black cats are evil is like saying all Pit Bulls are monsters. It is not true.
You are exactly right, thanks!
Every animal is like a human being. One of a kind.
He looks like a model, gorgeous photo!
Thanks, he moved as soon as the camera clicked!
He’s just beautiful! Your photo of Dude is contest worthy. I will smile every time I think of the picture.
Thank you Roberta. I love him like a child.
I always say that our pets are our children
And I will always agree with you!
He is very handsome! Wonderful photograph!!
Thanks, he is one of my babies.
That’s very sweet, I would love a kitten…but we have to pay a hefty pet deposit where we live.
That is too bad as there are so many that need good homes.
That’s the unfortunate thing about living in an apartment complex.
True, so many places in the states are anti pet. The places you can rent do have a huge pet deposit, then some you have to pay monthly just to have one. Whew, who can afford that on top of everything else with the housing crises. I have to move soon, and I am really worried.. I have three cats and a wolfdog.. They are my babies and I can’t get rid of them, I also can’t afford the huge prices for rent on them.
That is so crazy and unfair to so many people.
