Robin with Dinner

While out checking out my honeysuckle earlier, I noticed this male robin perched on the fence. He had a mouthful of food for his babies. I managed to get a decent shot as he didn’t see me behind the honeysuckle bush.

The robins hop all over the yard gathering insects for the babies. Nature is so amazing to watch. The cool part is when they feed the babies in the nest.

    • It depends on the species. They are all different. Like nest building. Sometimes the male, other times the female. Insterestng to learn.

  1. We have been watching the Bald Eagles feed their young. We are guessing that tomorrow if we are lucky we will catch them in flight. It’s been fun to watch.

  2. Wow! Nice capture!
What he is “holding” doesn’t looks delicious to me but I’m sure its for them and his babies …

I’ve seen documentaries of birds and seen feeding time … but that’s about it

  3. Wow, what a lucky shot, and a geat one at that! I understand that bird food from nature might seem gross to some of us but not really when you think that in Africa (for example) they eat grasshoppers and the likes…

    • It was one of those unplanned shots again. Yes I know others eat the same all over the world. Glad my yard can provide the food for the babies and other birds.

  4. You would love it here. We have so many birds, many loud and annoying, yes, and many with an attitude. I was standing by a fence and this kling kling came and perched about a foot from me on the fence. I didn’t say nothing to him and he didn’t say nothing to me, we both just stood and looked East for a time, and then he flew away.
