I sent the results of the experiment to my buddy. He was pleased to see multiple people using his nonsense phrase in a comment. He also noted that a couple of folks that commented built on points in the article. He said that is a perfect thing. He snickered that the downvote mania player continues without reading, but I pointed out that that person seldom actually read anything, commenting without text was a long time trend. He then asked me a few questions that I have my answers for but thought I would pass those on to the rest of you. He is building a mathematical behavioral model for how people act on the internet. I am not sure what else to say about that.
The ratio of site member views and external views has shifted a little. As authors, we get paid for member views. For those who did not catch my previous post, that is why comments are so important. The way to track your external versus internal aspects is quite simple. Pick a time you can be on the site for two straight days. Take a look at your profile’s current account number (your totals) write that number down. Then looked 24 hours later, write that down. That will tell you the average number of points you are earning anyone ay. For optimal results, I will tell you that you are nee to sample that rate for 4 to 10 days. The reason for that is that sties have ups and downs, as do posts and posters!
Once you have your total views and comment points for however long, you measured divide by days and then 24 to get your hourly rate. Then take your hourly rate of points earned and compare it to the views gained on your active posts. Doing this will give you a fresh idea of what the actual internal/eternal reader split is for your posts. There are some variables in this; older posts do still add value, so you are probably looking at about a 10% error rate on this. But the goal isn’t an absolute number, just an idea of how many views you get from other authors on the site, and the elusive external members. With between 60 and 75 active authors, it becomes pretty clear what your ratio is.
Currently, mine is 4 to 1, four external views for every one internal member view.

Yes, I do need to find some eternal readers so that my virils can then reach the stratosphere.
yeah for some reason yesterday was really hard on writing posts. I had 3 errors in this one.
Comments play a critical role to earn points but also to foster an environment to discuss issues.
Tuesday is my favourite day and prefer to go out when it’s not sunny or a little bit sunny.
thank you – thank you – thank you. you got the point and the value of comments!!! you are right!
Very interesting. You explained well things that I didn’t pay much attention to, Doc. I think, because I rarely share my posts on social media, the views I get are most likely internal.
well i know i share every post of yours I read on Facebook and Twitter. the only way to attract pixie comments when she can is to share on Facebook!
What? Really? You’ve shared my posts on Facebook and Twitter? I really unnoticed that, Doc. Thank you so much.
I and Pixie usually communicate via email but if I read her posts on Facebook then I will definitely leave my thumb there.
some of her posts are amazing! I love reading her thinking!

Yes (4 votes) – 80%
No (1 votes) – 20%
Q: WOULD YOU CHOOSE FRIDAYS OVER TUESDAYS?
Yes (3 votes) – 60%
No (2 votes) – 40%
the first question in the poll was supposed to do you ever stay home and not go shopping because you are tired?
yesterday was a tough day I had a lot of errors in the first two paragraphs. my apologies!
I wrote over 4700 words today and I have an equal amount for tomorrow and perhaps more. I push myself because I want to earn for my writing, I know that if I let myself go nothing will result from it.
you are awesome! keep going. and good luck!!!
Thank you, Doc it does seem overwhelming but I know I just have to do it.
there is much that is overwhelming – i know you can do it!!!
I am not sure how to distinguish external views and views that maybe come from page refreshes, but the total number of views I have lately is getting lower and lower.
the number of authors on the site is declining. we are in an uptick of external views though.
But overall your views are down? May I ask how much?
They are gradually going down each week. I don’t share my posts anymore so it’s not a surprise I don’t notice a growth of external views.
may i ask why you don’t share your posts? i share your posts when I read them..
Thank you so much, it’s really kind of you! I don’t have the audience for that on my own accounts, and in public groups and other sites I’ve tried, it’s mostly treated as spam.
one of the things that makes me really sad is that i used to share on Reddit from Virily. But Reddit now considers Virily a spam site.
🙁
It had niume blocked too.
Wow, I just noticed that there is only the upvote option, that’s amazing!
so far they have responded twice to my series how can we fix verily – when the community comes together in a positive way things happen!
It’s a pity that good news seem to come hand in hand with negative ones – the lack of virils for viewing others’ posts. Hopefully, the activity won’t drop down even more.
i don’t know, it is a big change for some people. i comment on the posts that interest me, but now I am going to have to make a double effort to reward those authors that comment on mine first!
I can’t keep track of this because I never know exactly when I can be on the computer. I was thinking of doing something else. In the posts I put one query: Are you a member of virily. So I’ll know how many external visitors have viewed the post. I don’t go shopping when I’m tired. If the day is very hot, I prefer to be home. I love the days as they are now. I’m sorry but I will continue to comment on other posts tomorrow. I’m working.
that is an interesting idea – will you let me know how it turns out?
if you can, and if you cannot, don’t worry! we do what we can do!
Very good information. I have not yet delved into how this works. I have to take the time once and delve deeper into it.
it is something I started tracking back in November when the views really dropped.
LOL I prefer cloudy days.
Tuesdays and Fridays are not much different to me coz my job is OTOT.
I’m not a shopping person and at time prefers to laze around wahahahaha!!
It’s interesting but then I don’t have time for that now. I need to find a day and write 7 posts and then post one daily to perhaps get a better result … not sure tho
you would ultimately get a better result if you posted every day, But it is all about what you can do!
Yeah, that’s true … it’s all about what we can do.
it is, plus there is no guarantee that posting every day makes a difference
Ah… perhaps that is the next thing to find out :p
you never know until you try!
Wow, I have never gotten a WTF on a post. 🙂 Lucky you! Too funny.
hey I must be stirring the pot a lot! i hadn’t noticed – it made me laugh!
It all has become so laughable. 🙂
honestly, it is just another example.
Quite Informative and logical
i am glad you found value!
