X-Ray ~ Alphabet Crazy

Have you ever had an X-ray done before? Obviously I am on the letter X for the Alphabet Crazy challenge. I had no photos in my archives to use. So I went searching. This is what I found.

There is great news for medical professionals relying on the use of X-ray pictures! A new bioimaging technique using a sensor chip developed by the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN has resulted in the creation of a scanner that can produce 3D color X-rays of the human body.

These new impressive images have the ability to clearly showcase the details of a patient’s bones, lipids and soft tissue as well as other elements such as disease markers. The X-rays have the potential to allow doctors in the future to detect health conditions along with bone damage.

The bio-scanner is the work of New-Zealand company Mars Bio-Imaging. The project took 20 years to complete.

I hope this technology is used in the US soon. Perhaps it is and I have not heard any new stories as of yet. Sounds very interesting and could prove to be very beneficial to the patient. From what I read, it will be several years before it is approved by the FDA.
