Animals of the Rainforest ~ #5 JAGUAR

Continuing with my series of some of the Rainforest animals.

They are all so beautiful and deserve to live and be shared.

If you missed the first four posts of the series you can see them here:

5. Jaguars are famous for their beautiful spotted coats, which help them hide amongst the grasses, bushes, and trees where they live. The rare, all-black (melanistic) jaguar is what we commonly refer to as a black panther. Jaguars are known to eat more than 85 species of prey, including armadillos, peccaries, capybara, tapir, deer, squirrels, and birds and can even snatch fish, turtles and young caiman from the water.

  1. i love this series!

when I was little my dad used to call me tiger. that was his nickname for me. I loved that! so i thought I would pick a name for my daughter.

I picked Jaguar – she still goes by Jaguar or Jags with her close friends!

  2. Jaguar just like other big wild cats such as cheetahs, lynx, bobcat, tigers etc deserve the right to live. Most of them unfortunately are endangered and that is too bad. I admire people who put their lives on the line to protect them….
