Survival of a Wild Turkey

There are houses being built around the neighborhood, the fields are going away sadly. And some of the wildlife. I managed to capture this wild turkey behind a house under construction. I am sure he was wondering what all the noise was about and what happened to his wide open spaces he used to have. It is sad for wildlife when construction takes over their homes. He will eventually find a new home and I will not see him again. I was glad to have captured him on this day.  As long as he survives I will be happy.

  1. We had wild turkey in Arkansas, I used to see them a lot! Sad about the development. We are in the same boat. You should see the waterfall area now..sighs.. That picture or I guess it was a commercial about littering from our younger years comes to mind, the Native with the tear..Remember that one?

  2. Last Friday while I was fishing I made a couple of shots.
But the bird was far, almost useless photos.
You were closer to them or did you use the zoom on the camera?

  3. I live where there are many wild animals and I am also a hunter. It is an interesting mix. I am thinking of adding a quote to every comment ” ”There will be haters, there will be doubters, there will be non-believers, and then there will be YOU, proving them all wrong.”
