I received this plant from a friend four years ago. Its fruit is physalis, a fruit that grows protected by a casing similar to a small hood, you can see it in the picture. I think that in English it is called golden berry.
I have these golden berries during almost the all year, even though they used to be harvested between September and October, my plant seen to have then all year round. They mature become sweet, if you harvest them before the hood is yellow, the physalis will have a bitter taste.
I love it and I eat it a couple of it every day 🙂

Yes, I have grown it occasionally. And often eaten it.
In New Zealand we call that, “Cape Gooseberry!”
In my country, we call it ciplukan.
Here in Spain is very widespread. Used in salad. It has a pleasant taste and the shape of tomato cherry.
This info is new to me.
Yes we have this in our area too!
it reminds me of the tomatillo; they look so similar I expect they’re related
Is it a little round orangey fruit inside?
Perhaps I’ve eaten it before
It looks very tasty, but I do not know this fruit.
