The worst distance between two people is misunderstanding. What a true statement. Many friends, family members, spouses, etc., are living in estranged situations. Communication is so important for any relationship to survive. Misunderstanding is a hard one to deal with when the other party will not communicate.
I personally have this issue with a family member. It has been over a year, since my Dad passed, that was the last time we talked. Now a misunderstanding has caused silence. I have reached out but nothing. I am realizing I cannot do any more. I hope time will heal whatever the problem is.
Life is too short for this situation. But it is what it is.

Sometimes it is alright to end an unhealthy relationship.
I have had this in a few relationships I have been in.
It”s hard when loved ones try to read our minds and make presumptions, or baseless accusations, or trying to decide for us.

I have a similar case at home – I do not communicate with my sister for 20 years

Totally agree that life is too short for misunderstandings.It is a pity that many people do not understand it or realize it too late.

Absolutely true and many choose to ignore.
It is true, misunderstanding is one of the biggest causes of disputes and separation. The difficulty is, when one or both parties feel that their understanding is correct and have withdrawn, it is intended like to be forever.
Yes you are correct Albert but I am open minded enough to want to sit down and talk it out. Agree to disagree if nothing else.
In such cases, usually, there are parties who are often or even always willing to succumb, but on the other hand, there are those who are too stubborn (if not because arrogant or feel afraid to be one who wrong) to improve communication and relationships.
I think, we really have to be open, and most importantly we don’t hate anyone, regardless of the possibility that they do the opposite.
I cannot even contact her, she has blocked me.
