Here’s another photo from the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia. It’s a beautiful place and if you have the chance, you should visit it. There were very strict rules about littering and even though the place was extremely crowded, I wasn’t able to spot a single piece of garbage. For some reason, this impressed me a lot. I rarely see so many people following the rules diligently.

This is the biggest call of nature at present. It is so hard to make the people understand the importance of these natural resources.
You are so right, Amit!
Hmm.. I wish everyone would understand the need to stop littering. We just cleaned up our street last week. People just trow stuff all around.
It’s so sad that everything developing so fast, but not people’s mentality when it comes to a positive change.
Beautiful photo so I know this place has to be outstanding. Lovely lake and I bet the whole park is wonderful.
Thank you so much! Yes, it’s a magical place.
The Plitvice Lakes are a truly stunning place. I don’t know how we can force people to waste. It depends a lot on the people themselves. I don’t understand these people.
That’s true, some people would never want to change.
I think there should be more trash cans or you need to take a bag with you for that purpose and depose of it later.
Now if I drop something by accident I pick it up.
Often pick up after other people and sometimes clean up after a person who leaves a mess in a shop.
I am not a person who does that at home all the time, I am by nature messy (I would like to be tidier)but in a public place I think consideration is due.
I agree with you completely. Very few people would carry a bag just to collect their trash when there’s no trash can around, sadly.
when I was a kid, you could get shamed for littering, these days nobody seems to care…
It used to be the other way round here. People seem to care a bit more, but still not enough.
hey, it is a start. around here, jerks just toss their trash wherever

What Do You Think?
this is a really hard question and situation. One of the things that we do is walk our dogs every day. There is a law where we live about the reality of picking up after your dog. We walk the same path every day.
We always make an effort to pick our dogs, and at least one other dog pile every day. the thing is there are always other dogs that aren’t cleaned up after.
The same is true of litter.
Hopefully, the pressure of others will make people clean after themselves. Unfortunately, it’s easier to pick up the bad example.
i would agree but I have over the past few years moved into a new mode.
The time of change is NOW. The reality of change is, now or too late.
Drops make an ocean. And that is the result of the garbage pile.
This is so true! Hopefully, drops of good examples will lead to an ocean of change.
That day will never come is what I have noticed, sadly
I have an abiding loathing of people who drop litter. The worst example I ever saw was a young man who dropped a used drinks can on the ground – despite the fact that he was sitting on a litter bin at the time!
Unfortunately, I have seen worse things. For example, people who throw garbage through the car window, which can be dangerous as well. Or people from cars who slow down and throw whole bags of garbage by the road. Not to mention construction waste. Luckily, these things are not that common in the last years.
I know Plitvice Lakes very well, dear Ellie … in my opinion, the high penalties have led them to such an order, although not all is so beautiful … there are people who care little about nature and do not even learn the punishments
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion! Happy weekend!
I also wish you a nice weekend, dear friend
Wow! It’s a very beautiful place, people must respect it and keep it clean!
Actually, wherever people are not allowed to litter, unfortunately, people’s awareness is sometimes low. Some beautiful tourist attractions have been closed because of that kind of problem.
I agree with you! Many people think that if something is not their own property, they don’t have to take care of it. A lot of people in my country are like that, unfortunately.
Many people do not realize that they are part of the perpetrators of environmental pollution, but they protest when their homes are flooded for example!
People are gonna do what they do unfortunately but if I see someone litter, I usually pick it up. Depends, sometimes I might say to t hem they dropped something. You just have to be careful.
That’s true! People are so aggressive these days that you have to be careful when confronting someone.
