oh boy!
Picking names in our house for dogs when I was little, was a family event. The first dog that joined us in Indiana was MacGregor. A good Scottish name for a Collie.
The next dog to join our family was a Newfoundland. My dad said we should call her Phoebe, and in honor of our friends and the way she looked we added Kuma to her name. Phoebe is a blackish bird. Kuma is Japanese for Black Bear.
Now, the couch in the cover picture, that is pure 1970s Americana.

My dog is very small. But I like it being small, they live more and they are easier to handle. The name of my dog is Evarista, there is a great Spanish punk singer called Evaristo from the Basque Country that sings with rage like a dog barks. All my dogs will be called Evaristo o Evarista. I love his music.
i have seen your pal, a very cool dog!
I grew up with large dogs, although labs aren’t as big (ours around about 50 pounds) but you are right small dogs do live longer!
Thanks, my dog is great. A great companion. I have sent a new post to Virily. Let´s see if it s published soon.
i am posting a make writing sites better tomorrow or today.

My brother left me a rottweiler once. She was huge!
In the past months, our home became an involuntary shelter for strays. We now have 5. Plus the surviving 4 liters that’s probably descendants of my old dog that passed away last year.
I have named only two of the dogs. I haven’t named any of the surviving pups yet.
we haven’t had puppies in the house in years – good luck!
Well hello Phoebe. My don’t you look pretty and so laid back. My previous dogs were a Shetland Princesse, an American Eskimo Belle and Tasha who was mix German Shepherd and Husky but not that big actually. Great to meet Phoebe…
she was an amazing dog – sounds like you’ve had some wonderful friends with paws over the years!
Lovely videos, the two that are having a conversation have their own channel on Instagram. So precious!
I love picking names for pets although I don’t always have the last word.
i saw the channel and found the youtube video to share it made me laugh!
we always try to come to a consensus so that means at least 1/2 the people don’t pick the name!
There’s always the possibility to make a mash up of the two names. 😁
there is always the possibility
Great photo of Phoebe. I love the videos. The biggest dog I ever saw was a Rottweiler named Toro who lived next door to us in Latvia.
they are pretty big – i guess I am a big dog person.
Thanks for sharing the fun videos. We have always had trouble choosing names for pets. We found it very difficult to reconcile.
it is often really hard, we finally gave up and started picking literary names
We had one dog that big. That’s all. We call the cat – cat. We aren’t good with names.
we had a siamese cat when we got back from Thailand we named her map, which is Thai for cat.
We had two Weimaraner’s growing up. Loved those dogs.
they are pretty big right?
Yes, sort of like Dobes with the little nub tail. They were both gray and so loving.
i love dogs, although I do better with bigger dogs than smaller ones. 🙂
I had a hard time naming my cat before Sophie so someone else named her. Phoebe is beautiful. I had a lab-husky. Not sure what her weight was, but, she was big.
lab huskys would be very big! at least 60 plus pounds!
