Ivar ~ Nature Tuesday

This time of year brings many different types of birds to my deck feeder. This red bellied woodpecker has become a frequent visitor. I have talked about him before, how he is sort of a bully. Even with the bigger birds. The blue jays are twice his size but they leave when he appears.

I have named him Ivar. If any of you watch the series The Vikings, you will understand why.

Sharing with the Nature Tuesday challenge. Always enjoy the nature in my backyard.

    • They usually stay around and peck on the trees, of course. But during the winter when for is scare, if you put up either asset feeder on a tree, or a feeder like mine with the sunflower seeds. I was surprised to see them come to the feeder.

  1. I have seen them around here, they arent as noisy as the big ones. You can hear them pecking at trees when we go hiking. I havent ever got a picture of one though and this one is perfect. What a great shot, thanks for sharing. 😀
