I visited my mother’s house this afternoon after work. About a hundred meters before the road to the residential area I was headed, I had to stop at a large intersection because of the red light. This environment is very close to my childhood.
There is a small park at the corner of this intersection left of the road, and this photo is a park on the left side of the road while on the right side long before was a football field with a lot of big trees which is now part of a hospital building. Until two years ago, the park on the left was still very beautiful but now it was rather damaged due to construction work nearby.
Jakarta is still quite green, but it is no longer as green as a few years ago with the continued development of additional infrastructure and the growth of buildings. That is one reason I moved a little further to the edge of the city.

I am lucky to live outside the city so I have lots of greenery, forest, etc.
Yes, you are lucky. But not a few people choose to live in the middle of a city that is far from the greenery.

Around me is full of greenery-fields, meadows, forests
Oh wow!
If I visit your house, I am worried that I will feel at home and will not go home again.
Probably, in addition, there is no such moisture in the air – it’s drier air
Well, indeed each region has its own unique and distinctive features.
I see it from my back door, I visit all the green places around me!! And brown as well. 🙂
I think this poll is indeed irrelevant for you and Carol because I know you are in the midst of the vast greenness + brown of course! lol
I think it snowed there on Thurs or Friday, but warmed back up to the 60’s.
So, is the weather still changing lately?
The weather is normal around here, High 40’s at night, and high 70’s in the daytime.
That’s good for you. I’ve been for 3 days here experiencing incredible heat!
Wow, very green over there while here we just had a 15 cm snow fall. But I do not mind. I love my Canadian winter even more than summer. Behind the condo where I live there is a wide unspoiled green area which apparently is off limits (till now) for future developments. Right now that area is all white and I am sure eventually I will maybe see a deer or two.
Well, because we only have two seasons, now in the rainy season plants are fertile and green life is more vibrant.
Without experience, my imagination is weak to imagine what if I was in the middle of a season in Canada.
It’s great if we keep conserving nature… and seeing deer… Wow!
I have nothing but green space and wildlife.
You have a pleasant living area!
Unfortunately, there isn’t much greenery near to where I live. But thankfully, I don’t have to walk too far to get to a nice big park. I love nature and greenery.
It’s good that you are still close to a nice big park, my friend.
I have a lot of green around me, as you see in my photos.
Good that you live close to your Mother’s house.
Yes, I am happy to see that you live in an area with a lot of greenery. I can’t imagine living in an apartment without plants near me that I can collect and care for.
Now I live about 4.5 miles from my mother’s residence, while previously it was only about 2 miles.
Maryland passed a Greenspace law many years ago, to avoid the problem of no green. Always wonderful, love the pictures Albert!
I think the law is a strong foundation, but sometimes there are certain people who conspire to violate it for profit.
That is sadly very true. But we do have a few greenways!
I live in South Jakarta where the regulations that were in effect until before the 2000s stipulated this area as a water catchment area and there should be no buildings higher than 3 floors or would be decapitated! Now the rules have changed, skyscrapers are scattered around us.
