Love ItLove It

Gentle in the wind

as things flow around us. We stop for a moment

but do not pause

rather simply come to a conclusive moment

where time and space

stretch before us as if flat as if frozen

time becomes the puppy that

seeing us runs across a field to stop

sniffing our shorts

wondering where we had been leaving him alone.

Do you see the last one there

the one footprint in the sand

the surf did not destroy as if saying

there is a journey to be taken

but we do not know which way

journey now with us and the pathway we shall find

we seek footprints in the sand

we seek egress and release

following footprints in the sand.

  • Do you follow the footprints of those that have been before?

    • Yes
    • No

  1. Footprints on the sands is so fleeting so momentary like life itself and yet the footprint people leave makes us want to follow the path. I like the direction in which this poem take my thoughts..
