as things flow around us. We stop for a moment
but do not pause
rather simply come to a conclusive moment
where time and space
stretch before us as if flat as if frozen
time becomes the puppy that
seeing us runs across a field to stop
sniffing our shorts
wondering where we had been leaving him alone.
Do you see the last one there
the one footprint in the sand
the surf did not destroy as if saying
there is a journey to be taken
but we do not know which way
journey now with us and the pathway we shall find
we seek footprints in the sand
we seek egress and release
following footprints in the sand.

I love the words but that photo is the best! Pinned this one for sure.
Thanks! The picture was one of those afterthought pictures!
Nice words yes, sometimes follow others footprints but sometimes I will take the first ones.
i took the path less traveled, and are all the better for it. Robert Frost.
Sometimes we have to go our own way!
Which is what I usually go my own way…I can’t conform completely…
now that is an interesting thing, isn’t it. Can anyone completely conform?
Good question, I was supposed to be couldn’t do it…
i would agree with you Pam
Footprints on the sands is so fleeting so momentary like life itself and yet the footprint people leave makes us want to follow the path. I like the direction in which this poem take my thoughts..
very interesting direction, thank you so much for the comment! Following the footprints in the sand is sometimes I love!
This reminds me of the Footprints in the Sand that was written on a wooden tablet that was given to me by a girlfriend.
thank you, that is a very famous poem!
I don’t understand the question most, dear friend …. what prints?
it was a question about do you follow those who started you off in life (parents and so on().
I apologize, dear friend … now I understand …. I don’t think I was exactly loyal to them … I used to turn a little bit on my own … but in principle
hey, no problem we have to find a path that is our own!
I think so too, my friend … if you can find a better option … there are other times than you used to make it easier to find yourself
the easy path in life is only easy to start. When we journey, things get complicated!
The title reminded me of the Gentle on my mind song. I often follow, but most of time I make my own footprints in life.
March to your drum, that is a good way to be!
I think we must respect our elder and also follow them
what about other footprints, do you follow them?
