I am a bit late, but I decided to share one of the desserts I made for Christmas Eve. Here, Christmas Eve is the last day of the Christmas fast and even though most people don’t fast, all the dishes at the dinner are completely vegetarian. The only animal product that’s acceptable is honey.
The two desserts are made are agar agar jelly with fruits and the no-bake brownie bar with nuts that’s on the photo. The recipe is very simple – about a cup of ground nuts, a few dates, cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon tahini and 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted dark chocolate to cover the bar, and some desiccated coconut for decoration. I also added a few whole nuts into the mixture, because I think it looks cute when the bar gets sliced. Instead of the oven, this goes in the fridge, preferable overnight, and you have a delicious dessert without sweating!
Did you prepare something special for Christmas this year? Are you planning a special dish for New Year’s Eve?

Yummy is all what I can say looking at it. You used Agar agar jelly which is veg.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, that’s why I used it, all the dishes on the Christmas Eve dinner here should be plant-based.
It certainly looks delicious…Yummy.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Pamela!

Thank you so much for your kind words!
With great pleasure,dear friend
I have never heard of tahini. What is tahini? The chocolate and the coconut is decadent.
Tahini is ground sesame paste. Like peanut butter, but instead of peanuts are used sesame seeds. Any nut butter can be used here, I just have tahini on hand.
Thank you for explaining that to me. Cooking is not one of my strong points.
To be honest, I am not that great either, but I love trying and some of my experiments are successful, hehe.
It looks absolutely delicious. I have not tried many no bake desserts but I will try this one.
Thank you so much! I love no-bake desserts, because they are easier to make. 🙂
