The tropical storm is brewing in the Gulf Coast of Mexico. It is already starting to affect our weather with thunderstorms. I do not mind the rain. We need the rain for the trees and the flowers. But I could do without the thunder and lightning. I will stay inside and watch and listen to the rain as it falls on the roof. Brings back good memories. The smell of the rain is great. Amazing how smells and sounds can evoke so many good memories we thought were forgotten.

I was watching that storm come in, a friend of mine lives in Pensacola. Great clouds, I miss storms.
Oh really? I used to go there a lot when I lived in AL.
I love it there, but the bugs are horrible. I got eaten up by gnats.
I do not miss that part. Gnats and mosquitoes.
We ended up in the rain all the way to the Lighthouse in the Bay yesterday. Not even the tropical storm yet, we get that Wednesday afternoon…
I am sure you did have rain, glad your trip was safe. We dodged most of the weather, but got a lot of needed rain, most went west.
Well, in this area we are really not as requiring of rain. Our ground is saturated!
Thank goodness there are no floods.
Beautifully written and brilliant photo. The other day with the rain I had a similar experience. Although I was a big sly, I did paint, but I’m not sure that rain drops are visible.

I like the rain but not days on end. In short doses rain is good. We need it. We don’t get forked lightning often in New Zealand. We do get sheet lightning.
Yes, too much of anything is not good. Many have been flooded.
I’m not a big fan of rain although, as you point out, it is necessary. I love a good thunderstorm, however, especially at night when I’m at not. Not so much when I’m waiting for a bus.
If I can stay inside to watch it and listen to it I am fine with it.
Whenever it rains, I feel like just staying on my bed all day and night long. c”,)
