One of my Crepe Myrtle trees from last year isn the photo. The little balls eventually turn into blooms. Amazing tree.
The tree is cut back at the end of the season and returns each year with more blooms than before. Beautiful crimson blooms. The top of the tree touches my roof. And still growing.
I also have planted three new ones in the front yard. Looking forward to seeing them grow.

A beautiful flower and a photo of Kim’s challenge.
Great shot. I remember you planting two more out front, but cannot remember what color they were. I also didnt know that they were cut back for the winter. We had a white one in Memphis right outside our front door. Loved it.
Not yet joined the challenge, just back for awhile and realised it started!!
Nice entry! Love the vibrant colour!!
You are very busy, do what you can. Thanks!
Those are simply beautiful.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing them again.
what an amazing picture Carol!!!!!!! i remember seeing this last year.
We are only 18 or so days from launching the flowers of Narnia series again!!!
Thanks Doc, this is another garden favorite. Love the crimson color. 18 days!
just 18 short days until spring is here!
We do not have the red here we have white, pinks and purples various shades of pink and purples.
I have seen the pink and purple here as well.
I love crepe myrtles! We had some old ones in front of our building when I worked at LSU. They wanted to cut them down but the Director of our institute spoke up and saved them. They were estimated to be almost 100 years old!
That is great Karen. I used to live in New Orleans. Amazing to know the old ones were saved.
Very lovely flowers and just love all that crazy red.
Thanks, I love the crimson color.
I would like a tree like this. Beautiful!
Thanks, they are very nice and come in different colors. I prefer the crimson.
This is so beautiful! I should find something for Kim’s challenge too.
Thanks, red should be an easy find.
