During my walk in the nearby fields, I noticed that farmers were sowing a lot of buckwheat this year. Usually I didn’t notice the buckwheat fields. Buckwheat was once an ordinary peasant food, and even the food of the poor, today it is ranked among the most nutritious and healthy foods. In addition, it is gluten free and is also suitable for people with celiac disease. Just over half a century ago, considerable quantities of buckwheat were produced in our country, and then began to retreat to more fertile crops, especially maize. It was used in the form of pulp and flour. From flour is prepared mainly bread, cakes, dumplings, and other otherwise simple but very tasty dishes, which nowadays is known as a typical Slovenian culinary specialties. Buckwheat is often classified as a cereal although it is not.

I have switched over to buckwheat in the last couple of years after I figured out that it is low carb.
I also use it for the same reason.
I have been seeing the word Gluten but until now I still don’t know what it is.
Gluten is in barley, rye, or wheat. People who suffer from celiac disease cannot eat anything with gluten in it because it destroys their small intestine.
I have had the pancakes and they are really good.
I totally agree with you. They really are fantastic.
Never tried the buckwheat bread but the buckwheat porridge is very popular in Russia cause it’s very tasty & useful – contains Ferrum.
