After visiting Carol’s post aboutMarigold ~ THEMES BY THE MONTH which had started by Kim, and Kim’s post about the challenge itself, I was reminded of this photo.
The photo above at least has black and orange after all Barong Bali is probably quite in accordance with the idea of Halloween.
With this post, I’m saying “Hi, I’m back!” or at least trying to create a gap in time for that intention. Sometimes it feels like eating without salt if I can’t visit Virily and all of you as it has been in the past few months. Really, I miss you all, also all new friends and new followers that I haven’t had the chance to visit.

Have you ever felt your day was bland because you haven’t visited friends on Virily?

Yes

No

I can say that I am a little addicted to Virily and sometimes I spend too much time here.
I also think so, unfortunately the situation is often unpredictable, right?
This reminds me of something we have here in Bulgaria, people in similar costumes called kukeri. I have been away, but it’s good to be back.
Is Kukeri symbolizing something, Ellie? In my place, I mean in Bali where this Barong exists is, Barong is a symbol of good against evil, and the opponent is Rangda. The story also begins with real history.
I also went away long enough, and could not back fully as before.
It is very similar here, Kukeri dance and they have big bells attached to their costumes. It’s believed that the noise they make scares the evil spirits away.
During the festival here, we have international guests, including from Indonesia. There are similar traditions in many parts of the world. It’s always awesome to see that we people have more similarities than we believe.
Now I remember, it seems like I’ve seen someone post about the festival on Virily.
As fellow human beings, we certainly have a lot in common… lol… Maybe throughout human history, every culture has adopted and cultural enrichment through various means of exchange. I see some cultures from several tribes in Indonesia has influenced by many other countries in the world.
You have been missed by so many of us here Albert, me for one! Good to see you. I have thought about you so many times, it is just not the same around here without you.
Your words make my cheeks blush, Kim. Luckily we are far apart so you can’t see it.
I did not answer that question as I have not missed a single day since joining, to be here.
Wow! You are an amazing use, Grace. When I first joined here, I only logged in about three days a week and posted once a week.
Upzzz… Typo… I mean amazing user…
I make typos too but we do not have the edit button here.
My thinking is once a site is joined we should be here regularly as users need each other.
That is a great point of view! I fully agree.
Is Halloween simply a celebration of our own inability to live outside our lives?
He’s back and this time he is posting Orange!
Unfortunately I cannot answer your question Doc, because I lack knowledge about Halloween. What is your own view of it?
People dress up as characters, as monsters as heroes and give out candy. I have often thought that the reality of holidays like that is the inability to step outside ourselves.
Interesting point of view, Doc. I only know that a European priest is the one who introduced the reality of holidays. I totally agree with your perspective, we often have to act or manipulate our ignorance and inability with something that is easier to do.
I see Barong but where’s Rangda? welcome back
As you know, Rangda never wants to meet with Barong except in battle.
Thank you, brother. Great to see you!
it is always a pleasure to hear from you
Firstly, welcome back. Secondly, the dude in this pic is one scary looking mother sucker.
Thanks, Bradley. Great to see you again!
Actually, in Bali, Barong is a symbol of good against evil, whose eternal enemy is Rangda.
Wow, you real know how to brighten up a place. This photo is absolutely stunning Albert. So happy to see you posting again. I know I keep saying that, but I mean it. You are missed every single day.
I think the biggest part of my longing for Virily is your appreciation for my post, Carol.
Do not ask! I think I became addicted to Virily! I missed your posts!
Actually we have the same addiction, Ileana, unfortunately I am being forced into quarantine by various things lately.
How nice to see you again among us, even if only for a brief moment, my dear friend …. I’m glad to see you alive and well
I am very happy to see you again too, O my dear friend. By the way, I feel sorry and concerned for what happened to you and other friends for not being able to post anything until now.
Thanks for your support, dear Albert …. I won’t give up immediately … I’ll wait a little longer … I’m sorry for such good friends as you and a few….this is against your problems 0, my dear friend
You’re most welcome, dear friend. I am sure that you will not give up because such problems should be overcome by the admin.
I expect this too, it’s only been going on for 7 days now, dear friend …. I’m a layman but I probably would have eliminated the error already … I don’t know what’s in their interest?
Until now it has been more than ten days and it seems this problem has not been resolved. I hope you remain patient, dear friend.
I have lost all will and I am leaving Virily right now … every now and then I will take a little look … I will look at your post just won’t comment … I hope you are not offended, my dear friend
I can really understand what you think and decide, dear friend. There is nothing of you that offends me. Once again, I really hope that this problem is resolved soon.
This is similar to our Kukeri in Bulgaria. I have lately been unable to participate. But it’s always a pleasure to be here among my friends from the big virily family.
Now I am curious about Kukeri. In Bali, Barong is a symbol of good against evil, whose eternal enemy is Rangda.
I have witnessed how you should prioritize more important things, Elenka, and later it was my turn to be less active after all this time being with friends here even though it wasn’t fun!
I meant to click yes on the poll question but ended up clicking no.
No matter what, I am impelled to come back to Virily. I miss the community that I have to find a way of coming back.
Welcome back. You’ve been missed.
Somehow this community has a strong magnet that always attracts me to stick…
Thanks for your visit, my friend.
