Continuing with my series of some of the Rainforest animals.
They are all so beautiful an deserve to live.
If you missed the first two posts of the series you can see them here:
Animals of the Rainforest ~ #1
Animals of the Rainforest ~ #2
3. The striking okapi is the closest living relative of the giraffe. This animal lives in the dense tropical Ituri Forest of Central Africa. A master of camouflage, its striped hindquarters and brown hide helps it “disappear” into the filtered light of the forest.

Beautiful animal lovely to see, thanks..
Although he is a big animal, there is something very nice in his eyes.
I watched a documentary on this a few months ago.
That is cool. I have never seen this animal before.
what a fantastic creature. I didn’t realize that there was a larger animal that was built to be hidden!
awesome learned something new today.
It is interesting that they are related to giraffes.
I have never seen this one before. I love researching for this series. Animals are the best.
they are magical – nature has a great mystery and wonders for us to find
Yes, I like the name, looks like a wild relative of the horse
Apparently it is in the giraffe family.
Yes, you say it on the post but to me, it is like a wild relative of the horse.
Such a gorgeous and unique animal indeed!
I thought so too, a lot of fun with this research for sure. I enjoy all animals.
What an amazing animal. I didn’t know that okapi was a rainforest animal. I have heard about this animal before and what sounded strange to my ears was that in Latvian the word for a cemetery is kapi.
Isn’t he a beauty! I would love to visit the rainforest. Interesting when you start researching the words in other languages.
Thanks for sharing information about another wonderful animal.
You are welcome, these rainforest animals are incredible.
