My last post was of cacti in Hemet California. Now I would like to share some pictures a little closer to home.
We took the new puppy, Luna to dog beach with her new best friend Meika and my moms Chihuahua mix. Meika is a five year old Wolf German Shepherd hybrid rescue of mine. She is 75% white Tundra Wolf and 25% Shepherd. She has a hard time warming up to stray or dogs she doesn’t know, and hates dog parks and dog beaches. Just too many dogs for her. I usually never take her unless it is off season on cold days when the beach is deserted. But…. lol since we have a new puppy, she needs socialization.
This is our day at Dog Beach in Del Mar California.
We went to the less populated area of the lagoon at first. Meika was the first to get wet as you see.
Just enjoying the scenery..my son, Meika and Penny.
Luna learned how to swim last week, now she loves the water!
Wet Luna..
One more of Meika before we hit the ocean side. This is her “happy face”. You will see a difference in expression when we get to the ocean side of this area.
We made it.. This is grumpy face Meika.. Too many dogs! The tide was coming in, when it is in this beach is no longer visible. The bluff behind her is very tall. She is as close to it as she can get, away from those pesky dogs.
The dogs and their people, you see the guy and his golden dog? You can tell they are up to no good, just look at em!
What’s worse is the people with those horrid clicking boxes like mom has. Posing on rocks,,Really? lol
Whats up with that? They are truly up to no good, stealing souls with each click.
The beach..
The waves were coming in so close together and were only about a foot high. But it was a dangerous day to be in the water, can you guess why?
Can you see what looks like little rivers leading out to the horizon? These are rip tides. The tide was coming in and about half way to full tide. Notice not many people or dogs out there?
Always beware of rip tides!
I hope you enjoyed the first of dog beach, I will post more tomorrow. Have a great day!
It is really fun going to the beach. c”,)
It is, and this one is fun in a different way. The dogs love it!
I saw the doggies had the fun time on the beach. c”,)
To have them or live together with those dogs seems to give unlimited stories of joy!
Boy they do, thank you Albert. : D
You are most welcome, Kim.
Thank you, shes a cutie pie!
“Ruff” day with those riptides. Great photos Kim!
Ha, yes. Ruff day indeed. lol
Dogs are social beasts by nature, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to get along with other dogs…
She doesn’t have much dog in her. She is totally wolf acting in nature, but you are correct. Unless they have been socialized as pups they might not get along with others.
Wolves are even more social than dogs. The term lone wolf is something of a misnomer…
The lone wolf is an outcast is it not.. grins.. Another reason why it is hard to own a wolf they have to be with you at all times! To leave them behind is to shun them.
Right, and wolves are rarely kicked out of a pack. It happens, but not often…
Great photos, they are all amazing!
Thank you so much!! : D
Aw I love seeing photos of the dogs enjoying the beach.
Thank you, one for sure, not so much the other. lol.
Nice photo, fun day out, huh?
Thank you! Not so much, Meika got into two fights. ugh.. But the pup had a blast.
Oh no!! Tell Meika, the next time I view your photos, I’ll Mosaic her mentally in my mind as a punishment!! LOL… (not that she cares)
Anyway, glad the pup had a blast!
Oh my goodness, these photos are stunning! Love Luna’s wet profile the best. 🙂
Thank you Carol, Ah yes, that one turned out really good. She watches..no telling what goes through her head.
Would love to read their minds. 🙂
As always, the photos are superb Kim.
Thank you Elenka!! : D
Well shockingly I like water better than arid! Probably not a huge news flash…
lol I do too! But still love deserts.
🙂 I just never really spent a lot of time in the arid parts of the world. When i did it was just hot…
