Want to watch a SoCal sunrise?

Our foggy marine layer lifted enough to see some interesting color.

We live about one mile from the beach in North County San Diego, in a little coastal town named, “Oceanside”.

Buena Creek lays in this valley, and feeds the sacred El Salto Waterfall, and leads to Buena Vista Lagoon and feeds into the Pacific Ocean.

There has been many artifacts found here, the latest a jaw bone from a Wooly Mammoth. Also found here were  horses, turtles and even a prehistoric bison.

All the fossils are from the Pleistocene Epoch, also known as the ice age, and are from 50,000 to 200,000 years old.

#1 Our fog!

Each morning if the wind is blowing in from the coast we will see fog.

#2 A closer look

Looks wintry doesn't it. I can imagine a Wooly Mammoth grazing on the hillside.

#3 Then it starts to lift

It waters the arid landscape each night, and keeps us cool. We need a jacket in the evening this time of year.

#4 Color!

Sometimes we go for long periods without seeing a sunrise or sunset.

Finally, some color!
