Anyway there was a duck with several ducklings and this was one of them.
Maharangi is North of Auckland.

I made my husband rescue some ducklings when we lived in some apartments. He tried to be patient about it.

Are the ducks wild and hunted for food?
Well, I am not sure of these ones, but every year they have duck shooting season which I hate and a whole lot of men are out with their guns shooting ducks, swans, pheasants..
Personally I wouldn’t eat the wild ones, because Dad used to bring home swan, duck, pukako , pheasants,
Frankly as tough as old boots and not worth it. Also full of pellets..
