I’d been trying for several days to get some pictures of the butterflies in our backyard, but they would immediately fly away when I came outside. I tried to open the door as quietly as I could, tip-toe slowly towards the flowers, but I kept coming up empty. Finally, I encountered a “brave” butterfly and was able to get a few pictures. This one definitely has some intricate patterns on it’s wings. Enjoy the photos below. Who knows when I’ll encounter another butterfly as courageous as this one.
This is another updated post. These pictures are from the Summer of 2017. It’s interesting how some years the butterflies seem oblivious to my presence and other years they are quite skittish.
