This is the bird my husband drew in pen & ink, the New Zealand Fantail.
A well loved bird. I am sorry this picture is slightly blurred but it gives you some idea of the personality of this friendly bird.
One day a Fantail came up and looked at me while I was hanging up washing and it was within arm’s width away.
It is a wonderful bird.
Does it have blue eyes? He looks so different than our resident king fisher, but the same colors on the wings. How cool even though it is blurry you can see it well enough.
No the Fantail has jet black eyes but often it looks like a blue light from its eyes . Thanks for the comment. Kim
She really is a wonderful bird, my dear friend
Thanks so much Lado, glad you like the Kingfisher bird.
She really is a wonderful bird, dear Pamela
This bird looks awesome!!!!!
Thanks Jenna, pleased you like the Kingfisher bird.
Our kingfishers are very different. I was planning to post a picture of the bird today.
Thanks Dawn I am looking forward to viewing your bird…
he looks (or she looks) crap, modern world they look angry at you! Great picture!
Could be angry but he or she is not afraid…Thanks Doc.
that is good, not being afraid of humans can be risky though…
It is strange that birds have their own personality.
Yes they certainly do have their own personality…After having a bird for a pet I have found birds do have that.
Thanks so much for your comments Grace.
I was tagged with the moniker kingfisher in grade school for our teacher said that I was the king of mischief.
I did not know the association of Kingfisher and mischief thanks Alex.
What a cute and friendly bird! The hummingbirds will get close to me.
Thanks the Kingfisher is larger than the hummingbirds I think
Sorry Fantail bird, but still larger than hummingbirds
