This is #318 of the 365-day photo challenge, and anyone can join, just post a photo for 365 days.
I had cataract surgery on my right eye. The surgery went well BUT something scary happened. Trying to start the IV was challenging. The RN tried warming my body up first. All of a sudden I heard someone calling DISTRESS and needing help right away. I was about to faint, but someone started an IV of fluids to help raise my pulse numbers. My pulse was in the forties.
I started feeling better soon after the IV had been started. In the surgery room, the doctor made sure I had oxygen on my during the surgery. I only was slightly sedated for cataract removal.
I will be doing a review of this hospital soon. Good things will be said!

I’ve been thinking about you this week. I’m very thankful that the surgery went well. How are you doing with your eye drops?
Get some good rest and lots of fluids, and Vit C, sodium ascorbate to help with the healing of inflammation. You are incredible, LaJenna!
Thank you for picking my spirits up.
I am glad the surgery went well. Were the eyes nerves the problem?
Thank you Introvert, I had eye surgery due to a cataract. The issue where I almost fainted was due to low pulse.
It is good they we’re quick and efficient to bring it to normal level.
i am glad the surgery went well. Thoughts and best wishes included with this comment!
Thank you, Doc for the kind wishes,
happy to send warm thoughts! how long is the recovery?
Two weeks with restrictions. Eye looks great so I have heard.
well take care of yourself!!!!
I am glad you are all right and that you had your surgery. I would have gotten so frightened after that and would have wanted just to leave the hospital. I have very shocky nerves.
I felt better after the IV got started, so I felt better about having the surgery
40 is indeed a low count. Glad all went well in the end.
My pulse was in the higher forties, which was still too low.
I wish you a speedy recovery, Jenna!
Thank you ellie925 for the kind wishes
and you still manage to have a smile on your face. Has anyone told you today that you are amazing?
No but thank you for saying I was amazing. God bless
If you wonder what is under my one eye it is what they cleaned my face with, it looks crusty.
I told The RN I was sensitive to everything. I feel better now, but feel very tired.
So happy to hear it all went well after the scare you had. Take care!
Thank you, Carol, I just feel overwhelmed, but better, and feeling very tired.
Oh my God , what happens to you
