There are houses being built around the neighborhood, the fields are going away sadly. And some of the wildlife. I managed to capture this wild turkey behind a house under construction. I am sure he was wondering what all the noise was about and what happened to his wide open spaces he used to have. It is sad for wildlife when construction takes over their homes. He will eventually find a new home and I will not see him again. I was glad to have captured him on this day. As long as he survives I will be happy.

I’ve seen Otter swimming happily in a park nearby (not really that nearby but walking distance)
Just hope that nobody pets him until Christmas or thanksgiving.
There are many wild animals here too. rabbits, deer, wild pigs
Dear, foxes, turkey’s and buzzards flourish in our area. Oh yeah and more rabbits than you could count.
That is a nice collection Doc. We have lots of rabbits as well.
I haven’t seen a wild turkey in Maryland yet. I’ve heard they are here, but haven’t seen them. As many birds as you have, you should open a bird safe area!
We had wild turkey in Arkansas, I used to see them a lot! Sad about the development. We are in the same boat. You should see the waterfall area now..sighs.. That picture or I guess it was a commercial about littering from our younger years comes to mind, the Native with the tear..Remember that one?
Yes development is sad. And I almost cry when I remember that commercial. That was very powerful and they should bring it back.
True, to still remember it as a grown up. I was just a kid when that aired. Somebody would probably get offended now days.. We can’t show stuff like that. lol
I’ve never seen a wild turkey, but it’s lovely to see them run wild like that. I have seen a wild peacock though. That was lovely to see. =)
Yes he used to have fields where these houses are now. Thanks!
Great capture! I haven’t seen a wild turkey in person….but thank you for sharing 🙂
Thanks Courtney, he was lost I think. Usually you see families together.
People are ruthless and they take their living space to the animals
You are so right, I agree.
they can’t develop Narnian lands!
I called my congressman to complain and they do not care. However, so far, Narnia remain intact. Fingers crossed.
you’d think Aslan would be more involved in this
We still have some of those on the farm. Though we stay in the city, I visit the farm from time to time.
That is nice you get to visit the farm.
Last Friday while I was fishing I made a couple of shots.
But the bird was far, almost useless photos.
You were closer to them or did you use the zoom on the camera?
No zoom, he was right behind my fence.
Thank you, you had more luck, my bird was far away.
She whipped corn grains thrown by fishermen.
I did not remember to zoom in on the phone.
You can always take the pic and then zoom in later on your computer. I do that a lot.
I live where there are many wild animals and I am also a hunter. It is an interesting mix. I am thinking of adding a quote to every comment ” ”There will be haters, there will be doubters, there will be non-believers, and then there will be YOU, proving them all wrong.”
What do you think?
I like it very much. You should do that and get some pics of your wild animals.
