When this bird bath was designed we never had peacocks in mind. Peacocks are huge birds and I never expected that they would climb up and quench their thirst. This bird bath is meant for tiny birds and birds of the size of may be crows but nothing beyond. It is tapered so that birds of different sizes can frolic in there.
But we had a surprise this year when two to three peacocks daintlly climbed up and quenched their thrist in the bird bath. It made my day watching them so relaxed and happy.
I grabbed my camera and clicked them. They posed for me.

Beautiful birds seen in picture
Thank you. It is a rare photo. T
Nice watching those birds bathing.
Nice to see you.
This was a rare scene. I did not expect they would come up like that
My surprises lately have been the blue jays and the one bluebird.
I am now waiting for the Drongo which seems to have disappeared.
OH my gosh, how cool is this??!! I wouldn’t of thought they would try that. They must of been thirsty. Love the blue necks. They remind me of turkeys, but maybe that’s just the time of year it is. lol
They do disappear as just now I do not see them
People who are sincere and are good at enjoying life will always have the opportunity to find surprises at any time.
So that surprises did you find lately?
So many, some of which were surprising visits from my siblings and my wife sister and almost their entire family to celebrate my wife’s birthday, some of my bonsai began to sprout after I was supposed to die of drought, a bird that suddenly entered the house, gecko who went into the bedroom and sang loudly there, and more!
Wow!! Family showing up could be the best surprise there and ofcourse your Bonsai springing to life. Life is great I say.
Yes, life is great coz it always gave us so many things, every time.
Peacocks are very beautiful birds, my dear friend
It was a treat watching them drinking water from the bird bath
But you live like wild birds … peasants used to have peasants in our country … I don’t know why they are gone now … there is no benefit to them
It happens here as well. Suddenly so many birds just do not visit us.
I don’t know where all these birds get lost
Males Of most of the species are attractive than their females. Why Humans have been spared from such arrangement? And by a large margin.
That’s a good question. Only the Maker can asnwer that.
Yep, whenever I meet Her, I’ll ask.
Peacock is a very intelligent bird. Nice post
They kind of seem to like us as they stroll with us around
Very cool and teaches us to expect the unexpected! Glad you got your camera out in time.
My camera is always kept in readiness (lol)
It is great to see peacocks and peahens quench their thirst.
This scene is pretty rare. As I have said this bird bath is designed for the smaller birds (lol)
Hmm .. sad that they can’t get in and enjoy the privileges like the other birds. However, they need a drink more importantly when the weather is very hot. I just place bowls of water for them in the garden, but the birds like my waterlily tubs more and muck it up.
Even these guys can drink from huge bowls kept here and there and so I was amazed to see them climb up there. (lol)
Your water lily tub I understand is on the terrace. Right?!!
They couldn’t help it with how thirsty they were.
Nothing new over here.
They must have been really thirsty as you have said
Wao! this is too beautiful picture.
I like peacock because this is beauty of my province Sindh Pakistan
They are very comforitable in our garden and are seen strolling around
Today I am going to help one of my great wishing him to bring out him from hard time
