Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the major festivals for Chinese, and it falls on 13 September this year. Mooncake is the traditional food that we will usually eat during Mid-Autumn Festival. There are different fillings in the mooncakes. I still prefer the most common or traditional filling, which is lotus seed paste.
My parents came and visited us yesterday, and they have bought us some mooncakes from our hometown.

We some small one..and pig shape for kids this year.
I like those pig shapes and those without any fillings. The mooncakes are too sweet for me now. 😛
I tried these many years ago, had forgotten until I saw your wonderful picture!
Glad that it reminded you. 🙂
Perhaps you can find it in China Town when it’s near to Mid-Autumn Festival if there’s any near your place.
i didn’t see any (was there at lunch two days ago) will check my local grocery, they stock everything!
They must be having molds. I like their looks – must be tasting great too.
Yes. I remember there were usually wooden molds, and now we can buy the plastic ones easily and the plastic ones are cheaper too. There are varieties of flavors, but I still prefer the perhaps original – lotus seed paste. But they are usually too sweet for me. Perhaps I should try to make my own mooncakes and fillings next year. I was too lazy this year. 😀
Those moon cakes look delicious.
Yes, they are, it’s just that some are too sweet for me now. 😛
In the olden days we have some Chinese friends who give us moon cake. I love moon cakes.
Hopefully you’ll get to find some moon cakes or Chinese friends who give you mooncakes soon. 🙂
I do like the Moon Cake Festival. My friends mothers all made stuff and we got to eat lots.
Good to hear that you enjoyed the festival and the food too! 🙂
Tomorrow I will be visiting a mid-autumn moon festival and will try my first moon cake then.
That’s great! Hope that you enjoyed the celebration and the mooncake too. 🙂
This is all new and I love learning out your culture.
Thanks! I think this is one of the wonder of having Internet, as we can get to learn from others easily when we are sitting at home. 🙂
Sound delicious …..thanks for sharing
They taste good, it’s just that I think some of them are too sweet. 😛
