  1. Excellent quiz, Rex. I got 6 right, and would have got the duck question right too if I’d scrolled down far enough to see there was a 5th question!

    • Thank you. Six is a good score.

Duck are curious creatures. It has always fascinated me that their quacks won’t echo and scientists still don’t know why. The fact that they don’t have nerves or blood veins in their feet also explains why they can swim for hours in frigid water without having any issues at all. I also remember seeing a wood duck flying into a duck box…a birdhouse about 2 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot with a hole about 2 inches in diameter. The wood duck was traveling about 30 miles an hour, had no difficulty hitting the hole, and I still remember wondering how it managed to slow down before splattering all over the back of the duck box. Yet, seconds after its feat, it popped its head out to look around. I was amazed.

  2. Got 5 out of 10 and it mostly guesswork. I certainly will never pretend to know everything about all the animals on earth especially since they count over 1 million species and subspecies etc. Great quiz and it just might push me to learn more…
