1. 9/15, read book about stones of each month when I was 12, remembered something. Very exciting quiz, was great to participate!

6. Six out of 15 on this quiz. I had fun though since there is a neighborhood in New Orleans which had streets named after diamonds.

7. Wow, another hard one as different cultures have different qualities they assign to the stones. Again, after taking the quiz I looked some of these up and the International Gem Society states that “a pearl always symbolizes purity, fertility and the cycles of life.” The ancient historian Pliny stated that pearls were dedicated and gifted to Venus, but he has been known to have told some whoppers, so I maybe he is not the best source. But I think at least two of the questions have more than one correct answer. It is a wonderful quiz, though, and thank you kindly for posting it.

     • Actually, I did check that link right after taking your quiz. The hard thing about quizzes is that often there are many right answers for each question. What I like about your quizzes is they motivate me to go out and search for further information on a wide variety of topics. I love that!

       • I meant to say that is the one I picked and the reason I picked it is that I was given pearls to wear at my wedding, because of these significations and I did not want to wear them because one of my historical heroes (Nikola Tesla) hated them. But I sucked it up and wore them, rflol.
