I don’t remember summer like this. Heavy rains, most of the time with short intervals of sun, mostly in the late afternoon. Today was the same. Morning was moist and hot with some clouds that didn’t look like a biblical storm is coming. A few hours later, the sky wasn’t pretty at all, covered with thick, dark clouds, like there has never been any sun beam before. And then it started….
I always have a front seat, during the storm, because my big and strong dog, Negro, seems to be one incredible coward, when it comes to thunders. So, both our cats and me, have to seat on the porch to comfort him. Truth to be told, it’s not an unpleasant task, because storms are beautiful in a countryside. Here are some photos to see it for yourselves. 🙂

I prefer not to have to be out in the storms and be inside…I don’t mind them at all. We only get sheet lightning here and it isn’t dangerous.
Last two days have been with strong rain and thunders, even thou the temperature was high. Sitting out while raining was the only way to escape the ”sauna experience” from indoor.
I find stormy weather invigorating!
Me, too. 🙂 Especially after I had to shovel it every second hour, for a whole week. 😀

Overcome a strange storm of innumerable difficulties, hoping you will overcome the incident afterward.
It was just a bad weather. 🙂 In fact, during every storm, I make a big cup of coffee and sit on a porch with my animals. My bigger dog is afraid of thunders, so the others of us make him feel comfortable and safe. Besides, I enjoy the scenery of lightening across the hills. 🙂
would love it if you and your cats came to the USA!
That’s a funny thought. 😀 I can imagine our entrance, like marching troops. 😀 After a few minutes, we would be expelled from your country, back to our wilderness. 😀
We’d give you refuge, although Luna would probably have a nervous breakdown …or hide under my daughter’s bed for a week.
That’s the most possible scenario. 😀 We’re one pretty difficult bunch. 😀

The place where I am currently 98% hot. This is summer with pretty good quality. Because it hasn’t rained for more than a month, so as a fan of thunder, I just listen to AC/DC.

I live in SoCal, and we only get excited about rain and avocados sales. Mostly we just get the latter…

Droughts are something I need right now and I could save some money too because I don’t like avocado. 😀

Thanks. 🙂 Those photos are taken from my porch. Still, I think I couldn’t catch the very essence of the storm, because this one was particularly fierce.

Great set of photos, I love watching storms. Its been very hot here lately, we have been breaking all time records for heat. We could use a good rain about now. My pup hasnt heard it thunder yet. lol It doesn’t bother Meika and the cats.

I live in Chicago which, because of being on the shore of Lake Michigan, has very strange weather. This afternoon we had severe thunderstorms with hail in some parts of the city while it barely rained at all where I live. Sometimes it’s the other way around.
That is really strange weather, indeed. 🙂 Big mass of wather attract rainstorms, but in a big city, it has no power to overwhelm the whole area. You were lucky to stay dry, today. 🙂
We have the same type of weather here in Canada. Hot and muggy one second, then clouds rolling in followed by lightning and thunder and then some coolness followed again by heat and humidity. It is a real roller coaster of summer. And it seems to be like this across the planet according to the news. As for dogs, I will always remember my neighbour’s dog that we babysat once. Well, during the night, a storm rolled over and the poor dog was so scared, it tried to crawl under the bred but could not fit. It tried jumping on the bed but there was no more room what with me, my ex, our two dogs ad two cats at that time. So I had to get up and comfort the poor puppy because it was shaking in its fur paws while everybody slept right through the storm.
Well, that’s quite a story! 🙂 Ecxept for the poor, scared puppy, of course. Most of the dogs are scared of thunders and they need to be comforted. 🙂
very nice pictures. It sounds like you’ve had a great time with your pets. In a few months here in South Africa we will have the summer rain. I always enjoy the thunderstorms when I’m at home on the weekend.

Oh, but we also have heat with a big dose of humidity. That’s why so much clouds are formed. 🙂
The weather has been strange here. It goes up and down all in the same day. We have had many more storms this year than most years as well.
Exactly the same. Temperatures vary from chill to unbearable hot, within only one day. And all that moist in the air…

It has been hot and humid here.
Domestic cats are lions in disguise. 😀 I love rain and was sitting on the porch (again) till recently. Than it became chilly and I went in, to prepare dinner for my pack. Negro might be a coward, but he knows when is dinner time. 😀
