Continuing with my series of the strangest facts about each one of the United States.
Ohio
1. The history of Ohio includes many thousands of years of human activity. What is currently Ohio was probably first settled in by Paleo-Indian people who lived in the area as early as 13,000 BC.
2. The first police car was a wagon run by electricity fielded on the streets of Akron, Ohio, in 1899.
Oklahoma
1. Oklahoma is home to thirty-nine federally recognized American Indian tribes.
2. Boise City, Oklahoma was the only city in the United States to be bombed during World War II.
Oregon
1. Oregon’s state flag pictures a beaver on its reverse side. It is the only state flag to carry two separate designs.
2. Oregon has more ghost towns than any other state.
Pennsylvania
1. Hershey, Pennsylvania is considered the Chocolate Capital of the United States.
2. Benjamin Franklin founded the Philadelphia Zoo, the first public zoo in the United States.

I did not know about Oklahoma (Boise City) getting bombed during WWII, was it accidental?
Yes it was suppose to be Texas.. The intended bombing site in Texas was marked with four lights around its perimeter. Coincidently, there were four lights around the edge of Boise City’s Courthouse, leading the misguided pilot and bombardiers to believe they were in the right place. About a year after the mishap in Boise City, the same men flew at the head of a daylight bombing mission over Berlin, collecting accolades and medals for the entire crew.
