Sharing a rose from my sister’s funeral for Kim’s Color Crazy Challenge. The color is kind of sort of violet.
After her funeral I brought the three roses home, let them dry out, and now they are in a special vase in my curio cabinet. I miss my sister every day. Lots of memories to get me through the days.

Such a special and meaningful post! “Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.” – beautiful words.
what a wonderful keepsake and memory Carol. Good for you!!! I like the line sisters are different flowers from the same garden!
Beautiful violet rose, a beautiful memento to have of your sister.
Very beautiful purple rose … nice memory of my sister
It’s the first time I set an eye of such a lovely rose. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, sisterhood is unique!
Nice colour of the rose …
I’m sure its associated with good memories!
I do keep things from love ones that passed …
but I try not to see them … perhaps it’ll hurt…
Lovely Rose and colour. Sisterhood as you say it is a very good thing
nice postwork, you really know how to use a light touch
Beautiful rose. This is a nice memory of your sister. I have saved edelweiss (mountain flower) in memory of my mother.
YEs it is a forever memory, thank you. That is also nice of you.
Sometimes I find them comforting and sometimes it brings deep sadness. I am not sure I will ever be truly “healed”.
We never will be healed, you never completely get over losing a loved one. You learn to live with it.
This rose is very well preserved. I have my hand and watch from my mother. I also protect my two parents from their rings of marriage.
Yes I was very careful with it. She passed in 2012 so the cabinet has helped with the preservation, it stays behind glass. Glad you also have treasures.
The rose is sure a beauty of a rose. God bless you, and I love the message at the bottom of the post.
Sisters are different flowers from the same garden.
Thank you. I have said that quote for years, it really is true.
Lovely words for lovely pictures, Carol.
Thanks my friend. You have few words lately, I trust things are ok in your world.
Basically, I’m fine, thank you, Carol. Indeed, lately, I am having limited time and rather exhausted.
Good. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you for your care and attention, Carol.
I love your final statement. Never thought of sisterhood that way. It’s a beautiful thought.
Thanks, it helps get me through.
