The weather has been gorgeous today. Went to visit the local state park earlier. I noticed all kinds of things. Lots of people and kids were out for one thing. But another was this huge tree. I only had my phone with me for photos. I had to take several photos to capture the beauty of this tree.
Not sure what type of tree this is, so I named it a senior. I know it has been growing for many years.
I love seeing old trees still growing like this one. Growing up we had them all around and had tire swings. What fun that was. A tree likes this was good for climbing. This tree brought back such good memories.
And I watched many people walk by, not even noticing the beauty in front of them. Nature has so much to offer all around us.
I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it. ~William Shakespeare

Enjoy seeing such old trees very much!!! To my mind, they give the whole landscape solidity and set up a philosophical mood.
I usee to love climbing trees and all that. Now with age catching up, it is difficult not to fear cramps or sprains.
I thought the beautiful old tree was easy to climb and sit to enjoy the wind there. Even a tree house seems can be built there, even though it’s not too high, then coupled with a tire swing… That would be great!
Yes I agree house would be perfect. Loved looking at this tree yesterday.
Just remembering in my childhood, Carol. That’s a good tree to see.
Thank you very much!
You are doing just fine.
My dad always said, “ask the tree what it has seen.”
I would love to hear this stories of the old trees.
My father took us to the constitution tree in Indiana (in Corydon where the state constitution was signed). The tree was long dead but he took us to the stump, to count the rings. There were more than 200 rings.
Dad pointed out that some were thick rings. Some were thin rings. It showed the story of the tree.
Love the picture CaroL!!!!!
More of those great memories. Thank you.
Unfortunately I was a klutz when I was a kid and climbing trees was not something I ever tried. I am still a klutz to this day but I have more guts now to try some extreme activities including climbing an elephant and nearly fell to the ground ??? thanks for dropping by over at FB Carol. If I am unable to check your posts, it is only that I do not have sufficient time but I am not forgetting ???
Oh you! A klutz. My brother broke several bones over the years but he kept doing the same things over and over. Oh wow, climbing an elephant is something I have never done. You are welcome, loved your last post last night. I understand about time. Good to see you.
The elephant memory was one of my most ridiculous and happiest moment ?. I will try better as to time ???
An interesting tree … I have beautiful memories of my youth and climbing through such trees … also what kind of a fall and what a break of your arm or leg is found
Yes it is interesting. Glad you too have memories.
Beautiful memories of youth, dear friend
Yes, we had swing tyres in trees as well, I wanted to say yes in the post but the page bounced and it got no instead.
Oh that is so cool to know Pam. No problem, thanks for commenting.
Yes, I climbed tree … and then like cats, got scared to come down … wahahaha *embarrassing*
The tree looks huge!
Good for you! We all have felt like this before.
I remember seeing climbing trees in the former Canal Zone in Panama but I never took a chance of getting into one of them.
It was a fun past time during my childhood.
Nice to know that you had a great time having a tree that you liked as a child.
Very interesting tree. I also remembered my childhood.
It was so pretty, bigger than what this photo shows. Great memories.
