Park Ranger and Cotton

We have a state park nearby and it makes for a great place to walk. Awhile back I found out they also rescue wild animals. Cotton, the resident owl, was found in the snow a few years ago. It was abandoned as a baby. She now lives at the park. She has her own cage and is often take out around to the local schools so others can learn about her. She is a special owl and so glad this ranger rescued her and she is being take care of. It always makes my day to see her.

  1. It’s nice to see her out! She looks happy. I saw one on my last hike, it was awesome. I was so awestruck, I never lifted the camera that was on and in my hand..

  2. I just live any wildlife (except for snakes). We have our shares of chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons, beavers (but not too many of these), “marmottes” (groundhogs I think in English), ducks (who sometimes knock on the back door), foxes, deer and lately bears. And all this wildlife is in Ottawa-Gatineau with a total population of almost 3 millions.

  3. I have been blessed to be around wildlife all my life. I have a unique perspective because of it. Oddly enough about two days a go a moose was licking my window. There are very big and I felt very small.

  4. We live in a rural country inhabited by wild life. Foxes, possums, boobook owls ( on our porch one evening I have photos of it), probably screeching owls ( as well), blue-tongue lizzards, brown snakes…

  5. I frequently visit the zoo near our home but I didn’t have the chance to touch an owl or any of the animals there. I am contented in viewing them. Lovely photos!
